time to braze up the small holes
    [IMG]
Sometimes the best fix for small, rust holes is brazing - in this case, small holes just need a patch because the underside gets bedliner and the top gets spray-on sound deadening

    next up, more metal finishing
    [IMG]

and repair of the rusted nuts

it was a shuffle day, so it ended with wiring on the Corvette... however, well... some old friends got moved
as with all great things... I had to 'just' change a fuel filter... what an ordeal, seems the last owner didn't bother putting one seal in place - which made the fuel filter pointless.... grand
    [IMG]
    so plan b was employed
    [IMG]
moved to get this back in the shop
    [IMG]
I can't believe how rough this car is.... ugh
    [IMG]
    installed in its new home
    [IMG]
the day finished with me getting this reinstalled

at minimum it's going to drive out of the shop.... that means paint the underside and mount it permanently.

Thanks, I can't wait either - but what's this "done" thing people keep talking about? as my avatar looks about the same as it did 11 years ago when I bought it.... done is a concept that I'm clearly not equipped to understand ;)

in the news, I got a quarter.... it's dented, expensive but it's also all there... 10 hours away.... I may cry uncle and have it shipped but at least a big step is now made... figure there will be road trip pictures in late April

now that the part is paid for....

I know others are looking for Buick wagon parts. He has parts of 2.... High Desert Auto in Twin Falls Idaho. Neat guy, pretty sure his yard was on a episode of Roadkill (with a Buick, I think)... but please, understand what these parts are worth before you take his time.

never think the fender is perfect... it is not
    [IMG]
I hate doing it, but I'm going to break it down to several components - which means spot weld drilling -
    [IMG]
mostly because it's easier to fix the dents as a single panel - however, the lower lip is really thin - so where I'm drilling out the spot welds will be replaced....
it's remarkable that it was filled with Idaho dirt but not rusted out

I know, cliffhanger.... where was the Buick going? to my new house, of course....

granted, I'm one large organization from being back to work on it... but it's in a far better shop now (4x better... and actually 8x by volume)....
