Reservations tonight for the Mrs’s birthday. However I did buy a half pig and a quarter cow from the local farmer last week. I think I’m good on meat for the summer. Or at least a few weeks, lol.
For Lent, more seasoned salmon. Seared & sautéed in lemon, white wine butter sauce with sun dried tomatoes, & onion. Baked potato, broccoli, & salad. Glass of Pino. Didn't have to turn the oven on, all stove top & micro.
Basically. It's beef stew made with Guinness draft baked into a pie. Recipe (I used the cheddar option and not the "trotter gear"/pigs feet option): https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1012397-guinness-pie
Another grilled sirloin steak, sautéed portobello mushrooms, fresh green beans, baked potato & salad.. all cut up and ready to eat. Yes guys, old Mart has a big glass of milk with a meal once in a while...
Yep, 4 drops of liquid smoke in a shot of beef broth, onions, some Montreal steak seasoning, olive oil, butter, in the Portobellos and you've got a hickory flavor to enjoy! Almost gives that hickory wood grilled taste!
A few drops is usually enough. Great in pork loins, beef roasts, even any gravy or sauce. I need another bottle myself...
I’ve been using liquid smoke for years. It is very, very strong! I used to make my fish dip with it. You can’t tell the difference.
Made nacho in a bowl tonight. Amazing combination of your favorite tortilla chips, ground sirloin, chopped onion, tomato, lettuce. Topped with sour cream, Mexican cheese, and your favorite salsa!
Comfort food tonite.....spagetti ( whole wheat linguine), meat sauce w/ portobello, onion & garlic. Salad & cheap Costco Pino Grigio.
