    Steve,

I understand the need to rant every once in awhile, but you made two posts before you had an answer threatening to drop your membership. Then you call this club "hypocracy". Now you say a summer that is five months away is ruined. Shouldn't you wait for a yes or no before you start going off? This is a first time event. That means that many bugs will need to be worked out before the event. There are a lot of people at work on this event allready. So please relax. I hope this is resolved to everybody's liking. Good luck all.

the Grand Prix's that you would be racing.. my friends cars anyway.. would be 12 second cars... maybe i can get a 10 second turbo grand prix to show up.. i'm going to try my best if this specialty class will allow them.. mostly their reasoning behind showing is simply to show the buick guys what kind of performance can be obtained from these new series 2 engines... its a business for them.. they'll show up hopefully to promote their products and prove to the world that they have good products.. so i hope thats enough for them to show up.. trust me i know what you're saying..

unfortunately i agree with the fast classes... it is a buick club.. but i don't see a ford bodied car on the cover... it doesn't really promote the club as well as it could i don't think.. BUT maybe .. if you work at it you can get what you want.. you gotta work for it and show proof that you should be allowed there.. don't get mad. just work for what you want.. not everything in life is easy to obtain... many of us have worked hard on our cars.. it wasn't easy.. and unfortunately this probably won't be either.. but persistance pays off... go find some other fast buick powered oddballs... honestly... you promote the group, you get a good bunch of races and you have fun... let the fun begin my friend... let's see what that t-bucket can do... you just gotta lay down the law and go after what you want.. but arguing isn't necessarily the best way to accomplish this... i understand your pain.. i honestly do... and i'm gonna help find you some good cars to race against.. as soon as someone gives me the ok to go call out these cars.. i'm gonna be on the phone... so... someone please inform me when this is final.... logik(at)unlogikal(dot)net .... i know one 11 second regal GS is coming... he's buick bodied though... i can get more... so... let me know and i can get to work on it

OK heres a thought. Factory Buick powered cars that are not Buick bodied have their own classes. People who stuff Buick engines in cars like the T bucket can compete regular like. I mean, that Big Block will be visable clear as day!

i'm game by that... its fair... its up to the people right? it is a club... let the guys figure out what they wanna do... have a vote or something on the bpg forums. i mean maybe an announcer can point out the t-bucket is buick powered... or anything that isn't buick bodied is buick powered... give some specs or somethin.. that'd be neat i think... there's a ton of ways around this...

    EDIT:

to elaborate on that.. is there going to be an announcer? does everyone think that would be annoying or no? i honestly think it could be cool to have a fun announcer, doesn't talk a lot, but kinda eggs some cars on... its always neat to have the announcer kinda know ahead of time that the car is fast.. "oh man... this GSX is gonna destroy this 2001 Regal GS"... and then have the tables turned.. ya know?

    Kyle,
I appreciate the thoughts. Dr Speed is a friend of ours, runs a new GS in the 12's. Fortunately for him it is Buick bodied. The T screams Buick. I wish I had a digital camera to show you what it looks like. Has 23 Buick brass emblem on radiator shell, all Ford logos removed and Buick emblems on body. Nice BUICK 350 right out there for everyone to see. It looks like a 23 Buick other than than cowl is shorter. But alas, it is a Ford. Not worthy of any front cover on any magazines, but good enough to take 2nd place in the car show - race car class at Norwalk this year. Draws alot of attention anytime, anywhere.

I deleted my previous post because I missed an imprtant detail....thanks for the PM Steve:beer

JH said: a Buick body and powertrain MUST be the norm when it comes time for an event to be held, except for the hybrid cars, which we will allow in an Outlaw Race Class or Conversion Show Class..

    Soooooo......

What we are trying to figure out, is if a T Bucket (or otherwise) can run in the regular classes? I'm just trying to gather the whole scenario of this thread...

Adam... I can't remember where I read it, but it wasn't in this thread....
But the statement said something like "Only Buick powered, Buick bodied cars will be allowed to attend" or something to that effect. Hopefully I've remembered it somewhat correctly.
I'm sure someone will chime in with an accurate quote (and/or link to the thread) soon.

Thats the statement thats causing the confusion. :Do No:

the problem i think originally stemmed from my question about whether grand prix's and monte carlo's with the supercharged 3800 could attend... :| and someone said that only buick bodied and buick powered cars could attend.. you had it close enough to get the point across... i'm not sure how accurate it was really i don't know if it came from someone that was in a position to say that ... but hopefully we can get it all straightened out

    T Bucket info

You made a big mistake asking me about specifics...I LOVE to talk about my car. All of my girlie friends know never to ask about my car because I can't control myself. Ha! By the way...yes it was at Tony's test and tune. We originally bought the T from a friend- Jimmy Scaggs. Most of you don't know Jimmy. He's an original Buick man from the start. He built this car from the ground up. His intention was to build a solid mid eleven car powered by a little old Buick 350- pretty near stock. The car only weighs 2000 lbs soaking wet. He decided to get out of racing. He knew I wanted a T and asked us if we wanted it. I bought the car with the promise that it would always be Buick powered. The car was originally yellow with the motor Buick red. I wanted it to be Candy Apple Pink with a black motor. I blew up the original motor in the car. We decided to try a 455 in it. The car just couldnt handle it from a suspension standpoint (or lack thereof.) We are currently building another 350 for it. Just like the first one- practically stock. It should run 10.80's which is plenty fast enough. It's crazy at the top end. It jumps around like a little cat when you let off it. I'm telling you it's the best little car. You can't imagine the fun.

Rick, I found it in the BPG thread Dave G posted.

It seems there was LOTS of confusion with that thread - specifically pertaining to "classes" and "brackets".

Lemme try to get this right (correct me if wrong!)

We are debating if Leanne's T will be included in the normal "classes" or not.... But it is allowed in the bracket racing?

    ow! my head:laugh:

EVERYONE PLEASE "HOLD THE PHONE" WE ARE WORKING ON ALL PARTICULARS. EVERYTHING SAID PREVIOUSLY OTHER THAN THE HOTELS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. JIM HAAS HAS BEEN BREAKING HIS BUTT GETTING THINGS ORGANIZED AND NOW THE BOARD IS CONFERENCING ABOUT THE DETAILS WITH HIM.

SO NOW YOU ALSO HAVE AN ANSWER ON WHY YOU SEE MULIBLE POSTS ON THE BPG BOARD BUT CANNOT ACCESS THEM. WE THE BOARD OUR GETTING THINGS TOGETHER. WE ALL HEARD YOU GUYS LOUD AND CLEAR. SO PLEASE AGAIN COOL THE JETS AND PLEASE WAIT. IN A FEW DAYS OR SO JIM WILL HAVE A FINAL RACE CLASS RULES.

AGAIN I STRESS THIS IS WHY THE BPG HAS A BOARD, NO ONE PERSON RULES. WE WILL DISCUSS AND COMPILE OUR VIEWS AND FACTS TO JIM AND FROM THERE JIM WILL SEEK THE PROPER AND LOGICAL COURSE.

Thanks for your concerns, complaints and suggestions and most of all your patience, just give us a little more time.
