Wow, I was just joking with JC. ( I know this could never happen). I’ve heard about factory sloppiness but Never tripped over it, lol
If you make the interior nice and the exterior stays rough you might have to change the name to butterface
Ha, well deserved. Disassembly went well, but damn work keeps getting in the way. Seats are at the upholstery shop. Sorting out the hvac and thanks to Dano for some missing duct work. I have a full set of floor pans, the welder is out but I’m still a bit torn. The largest patch needed on the floor is no larger than a dollar bill. It just makes sense to do it while I’m here, right?…
Full set of floor pans?? Whaaaaat? If I still owned it, I would of probably wire wheeled the holes, put some rust converter on the area and put some fiberglass mat over the couple small areas. It would be ashame to replace all the pans
And that front seat used to be green. I vinyl dyed it. Oddest thing when I bought it. Had the right bench with matching upholstery just dark green.
I'm going to guess all the vinyl front seats do that eventually..... looks just like the one in my LeSabre other than color.
From all of us with POR/Rust converter and fiberglass on the floors of our cars, I would like to say a big thank you to Jason.
I have driven and built patina/ crusty drivers . Make the interior nice . It's cool to drive a garbage can just don't want to sit in one .
Hvac duct work is reconnected. First and largest piece of floor is cut out and patch is almost ready, hopefully get tacked in tomorrow. I’m sure some fiberglass will have to do in some places, but not this one.
The inherent flaw is patching floors with fiberglass is a step below using a street sign! It can't be "done right" because it's not right to begin with!!
