    LOL, I was too!
Told the wife “WTF is up with this steering”
Amazing how kids know how to “do” things on cars thru the vehicles computer even if they have no clue as far as cars/trucks.

It amazes me how many people NEED this stuff. Part of it is lack of training-people need ‘blind spot monitoring’ because no one taught them how to aim a door mirror. Hint: you don’t need to see your own car! You need to see the pavement or car in the lane to your left!! (If, from your driver’s seat, you can see the face of the driver in front in his/her door mirror, framed like a portrait, then that driver’s mirror is useful for only (1) reminding the driver what color his own car is and (2) how bad the damage looks after the lane change accident.)
Second big issue I assign blame to both the drivers and the car companies-people driving at night with the headlights off! Between the dash being lit all the time and DRLs, these folks go zooming down I-75 into Atlanta, 80mph plus, at 1am, with NO HEADLIGHTS. (I was on the way home from a concert Sunday morning and saw a BMW with fogs and DRLs, a BRZ with the same, and a Charger with only DRLs-no taillights. All 80 plus with faint light reaching maybe 30 feet out.)
Third, headlights are TOO DAMN BRIGHT. Low beams that blind as the car crests a hill, and asshats who drive with the brights on ALL. THE. GOD. DAMNED. TIME.

Apparently some Kia’s don’t have blind spot monitoring. Drivers like this one, whose mirror was aimed at the spot where damage would occur, are part of what I’m ranting about. She hit me in September, just drove into my lane as if I weren’t there (she had no clue until it got noisy, crunchy and bumpy).

Richard Petty said (paraphrasing) "if you see a wreck happening, aim for it. By the time you get there it'll be gone." One time in real life/on the highway where that would've been applicable. I was about 19-20 & saw a car lost control (seemed like something broke) about 3 lanes to my left & his words flashed in my brain. I was too scared to do exactly what he'd said to but should've. Damn if the car that was wrecking didn't wind up right in my path. Fortunately I was able to stop but I had I done what Petty said, the car would've been long gone.

Few ppl adjust mirrors properly. There's actually a SAE procedure & when done properly, a car's reflection will seamlessly transfer from the side view to rear view mirrors (or vice versa) with almost no overlap. I sit very close to the wheel (yes, I realize dangerous w/air bags but also have better control) & have to alter their procedure a little to get that same transition.
