OK so some of us trade cars every few years and then theres Thomas who trades cars every couple days. How many of you guys keep your cars no matter what else comes along and who will sell their car at the drop of a hat?

I have been told to never say never, but the best way to say that I am keeping mine, is that it will be disposed of at my estate sale!:puzzled: It will be 9 years in Oct and I am not looking to get rid of it, just to add and start a collection. (my wife will be proud of me wanting a "collection!")

    What a silly question!

I'll never sell the Ramrod. Wasn't sure where it will end up after they box me up and plant me, but I think that was just resolved. See other post!

On the other hand, everything else is up for sale at any time for the right price. Once done with the red 68 W30 and the green (soon to be all black) 66, one of those will be sold. Couple years down the road the other will also be sold to finance the Ramrod restoration. Zero sum financial game once you retire.

Ive had the Vette since July of 99. No real plans to sell at this point. Unless a certain guy from Kansas wants to trade a yellow Pure Stock LS6 (71 Corvette) !! Then its bon voyage' to the old L88.

Well, I have 'owned' my car since I was 3, and I turn 39 this month.

Somedays I wish I have the balls to let it go, but I guess I will just have to build a 2nd car instead.

  8. I would sell my car at the drop of a hat if there was enough $$,$$$ in it! Of course, I would then have to turn around and shop for another Buick, preferably a 70 Stage 1. Not saying I WANT to sell my car, just that there is a price level where it would go... My choice would be to add to the stable though, but I don't see that happening. If only I was single :error:

I've held on to my Buick - even though now it sits rusting away (I drive it occaisionally). People used to get angry when I wouldn't sell it to them - and that was when it was rust-free.

  16. Hmmm, no one's asked to buy my car in the 3 years I've owned it... :puzzled:

I used to sit around and say I would never sell a certain car, then
came PSMCDR, and there's just too many car's out there that I'm
    curious about owning.
I did'nt used to be this way, really:eek2:

    I got my first car, a 63 Impala SS 409-425 H.P. for my 15th
Birthday, it was a father/son project. owned from 85-99,really!!
    Had my 67 GS400 from 90-2001
    Had the Stage1 3 years,and it's been nut's the last few years,
    even I realize that:Do No:
I'm ready to take a break, the whole bought it,restored it,raced it,
sold it thing has me a little burned-out:rolleyes: and with a 2 1/2
year old, I simply don't have time to do another crazy project.

I guess the way I look at thing's anymore is like this, I'm not rich,
and I'm never going to be, so I know the 80x100 heated barn
with a bunch of restored musclecar's is never going to be in the
    realm of reality for me.
I look down the road to the adult diaper wearing day's, ask
yourself this......Are you going to be sittin' in your wheelchair
wishing that you would have bought a certain car, or are you
going to be more content being able to say, "Yeah, I had one of
those once, and it was Freakin' Awesome to Drive!!!"

Because, on the day they stick you in a plywood box, even if you
request to be buried in the car that you'll never sell, the bottom
line is, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU!:Smarty:

Is that car for sale? Does a Bear................

    Must be the A.D.D.

I was attached to my '40 Willys coupe. 16 years I owned it.

A guy tried for four years to buy it. I said when you hit the price I'll let you know.

Year five he hit the price.

It was sad to see it go..... for about two days....but it was more fun buying the '64 and having the resources to do the car than the Willy's had been for the last 10 years of ownership..

Like Tom said, I'll never have a stable of restored cars and I like too many of them to own just one.

And I don't want to be one of those folks with a stable of projects that "I'll get to someday" and someday never comes.
