I bet he was surprised he lost, especially since it was a Buick.

He really wasnt all that disappointed he knew it was a little more torque than his. All hes got done to the car is a GSR swap, intake and exhaust. I know hed outrun me on the highway though. The reason I left the line later than him on the second run is becuase we were bracket racing and i had a faster dial in than him.

    Thanks Alan!

The car is such a great sleeper even with the blower at full song. People pay no attention to the little SUPERCHARGED emblem in the back. Is it really that hard to take this car seriously? I had my window open on my first run and I was in the lane next to the stands. And I heard one guy say "...an f'ing Buick!?!?"

BTW That generation Integra weighs 2550 lbs....my Buick weighs a whopping 3754 lbs.

Are you SURE about that integra weight ?? If so thats a flyweight

and as far as your 15.07 goes ... you should have taken a :moonu: before the pass - you would have been in the 14's easy  :TU:

Alan Ive seen ratings for the Acura in the range of 2500-2700 lbs. Its a light car.

Some guy had the exact same setup as my friend except his car was completely gutted and he was in the 14's.

Steve I made my own cold air intake for it. All I have left to do on it is make the plexiglas air box but im not too keen on plexiglas work. I also need to drill out a hole for the IAT sensor. It sounds so bad-ass with the open cone filter on the intake that supercharger screams!!

Steve where on L.I. are you maybe the next time Im in town I can pop the hood and you can take a look. I live in Holbrook but Im currently stationed in NC.

my dad used to have a 97 supacharged Rivi and it was 100% straight out of the factory untouched. I ran a few passes in the quarter just putting it in drive and taking off I ran like 88 or 89 mph. Then dad got in the car and he shifted it manually and he hit somewhere 94-95ish mph in the quarter at quaker city dragway a few years ago. no BS. then my sister totaled the car. but its ok cause now i have a 96 Rivi. so far it puts up the same numbers as the 97 did, but i havent ran it manually shifting yet though.

you might want to try that. it makes perfect sense because they design these cars to shift for economy (unless you've changed some chip or whatever i guess). when you manually stretch them gears out more and let that supacharger rev up a little more till its screamin...

At WOT the transmission is programmed to shift at 5500 RPM, right at the yellow. Id be almost afraid to take it into the red. I do plan on purchasing an autotap however. And I have been told this program will allow me to change fuel trim, shift points, speed limiter, etc etc. Hopefully when my next check comes ill be able to get either that or some exhaust work done.

Thanks for showing an interest everyone.

I'll have to ask Pops where he shifted at because now that I think about it, I have seen mine shift right around there. I can't remember if that was only for a gear or if it consistantly shifted there every gear. All I know is after I saw his pass and time slip, I felt stupid! :) I told Pops, "Well, I guess thats the difference between years of racing experience and me!" Finally, after I took my own car out on the track and did it in drive on same track with similar conditions (this was like a year later I think) he said, "the only thing I did was shift manually" well, I couldn't attempt it because I only had one time trial left until eliminations and I didn't want to try something new because I wanted an accuarate dial in. Of course I hadn't taken a pass down the track in over a year too! I ended up getting beat by a new Hemi Charger in the second or third round because I red lighted. He red lighted much worse than I did, but I red lighted first on the count of a slower dial in. it was only in the 8th mile because of wind that weekend, but on that pass that I redlighted, I hit within .02 of my dial in. I could be wrong, but I believe it was a 10.82 on a 10.80 if my memory is correct. The other guy broke out I think. I was so pissed because I gave the race away.

Just for the record, there was a group of like 4 Hemi Chargers and one bottom end Charger (v-6 I think) there who were all together. 1 was pretty fast (many upgrades), 3 were respectable (mostly factory stock they said), and 1 was wasnt too impressive. Their stock v-6's are nothing to write home to mom aboout. I think the one guy told me that the difference between the Hemi and the v-6 is like 2 MPG and a couple thousand. He also said those cars weigh around or over 4000lbs! Sorry, I know I'm way off the subject now.

My 1/8 mile times were hovering around 9.6 - 9.8 all day. Im gonna take the car out today and get one good launch to see where it shifts from 2nd - 3rd. I dont think its at 5500 though. I know 1st - 2nd is.

Holy crap I just found my timeslip, and I was way off. In the 8th mile on my last pass of the night when I got beat by that Hemi, I ran a 10.128 on a 10.10 dial in. (i knew it was a sweet pass) My freakin redlight was a .349! :( His was a .236!
That day I only got 1 quarter mile pass and it was 15.67 @ 88.35 mph. For the 1/8th mile I was getting 10.123 @70.19, 10.045 @71.57 mph, 10.181 @70.06 mph, and 10.128 @ 70.26 mph all in that order.

That Hemi ran 9.084 on a 9.00 @ 77.61 mph in the 1/8th on that pass that beat me. I gave the race away.

in the honda world, those integra's ('94-02) were pigs. the average hatchback civic weighs 2200..

a gsr swap into an ls integra should be good for around 14.8 with a good driver

that being said, how many good drivers are willing to drive hondas?

by the way, i LOVE the sleeper status of my moms '96 riv.. rice doesnt know what happened..
