I agree, it's not the perfect restored Buick GS, but it's worth a little more than $31,995.

It's amazing, every time I look at photos of a car, it always looks outstanding, then you see it in person, and you find all kinds of issues.
Not to mention, after you drive it, you find all kinds of mechanical issues too. I DID... VET (Navy)

One would spend 20k getting that thing close to worth 32k

It's a 71 non stage auto car..that's pieced together and not even completely at that.....a concours correct 71 non stage would MAYBE bring 45k....and it would need to be MINT.....you're not gonna find that car because no one in their right mind would restore a 71 455 car to that level....you would take a 60k bath the moment it was finished.

Cars like this need to sell at what they are worth not some inflated number.....it drives the rest of the market for the REAL cars askew

I GUARANTEE it's full of shitty bodywork and garbage paint.....any troglodyte that would use that hood bar...and do all the other atrocities done here..will most CERTAINLY be a hack on any and all other aspects of the car

hugger, I have noticed you have a excellent eye for seeing flaws in photos that I will never be able to spot. Also, your classic car experience is super good.

    Question for you.
What would the cost difference be between a 1970 GS 455 Buick Skylark and a 1971 GS 455 Buick Skylark?

Considering both are contours restored and both have the same options? Will the 70 GS bring a higher price? VET

Fantastic, I bought a 1970 GS 455, 2 1/2 years ago and according the Hagerty (if they are accurate) my GS is worth $71,610. Based on their
#2 Excellent condition. An increase of 20%. I hope this is an accurate estimate. It doesn't matter, I'll never sell it.:D

For the following reasons I like the 70 GS Skylark better.

    (1) First of the new body style for 1970. Love this body style.
    (2) First 455 engines (even though it's a bored 430 engine) with more HP. Who doesn't love more HP & Torque!!!
    (3) More torque.
    (4) It's history of being the fastest car tested by motor trend. You're Hemi isn't big enough! The controversy will never END...
    (5) It's just a very good-looking car and not the run of the mill GM muscles cars.:p
    (6) My father was a Buick man. I learned to drive on his 1964 Buick Wildcat. :D Don't know why he complained his rear tires got bald quickly.
    (7) I love the to hear, "what kind of car is that"? One lady asked me if it was a new 2024 model car. LoL  The older I get, the more people have no clue what a 1970 Buick Skylark looks like.

    Thank you hugger....
