This is the beginning of what I hope to be an interesting car when completed. It started out in the leads section. Purchased from the family of a man that bought this car new in 71 and was his daily driver till he passed. 71 Gs 350 ,auto ,p/s ,a/c. Man drum brakes column shift with arm rest. N25 bumper. Platinum mist, black vinyl top, black interior , hubcaps. Was advertised that it ran and drove. Is does that but it’s the worst running driving car I’ve ever been in. It’s actually very solid. Getting started on trying to get it road worthy.

First week work New used rally wheels and tires Carb removed to replace some missing linkage A bunch of wiring removed from previous owners cb radio and interior lights Front sway bar and shocks removed. All front suspension is needing replaced New/ old over flow tank I hood spring replaced that was missing Trunk cleaned out. Original wide oval spare still in the trunk
Good start. I used to scrub cars with paint like that with Comet cleanser. You want clean not shiny at this point. The rusty areas will disappear!
I’m trying to figure out what process would be best to clean the exterior. It appears to have rattle can spray primer on the thin spots of the paint. Would like to just get it back to what is left of the original paint.
Stan, try wet sanding with 1000 grit. It shouldn’t take much to sand the primer off if it was rattle canned on.
Front end disassemble …. Probably the worst I’ve ever seen that was driven on the road. Will be going back together tomorrow with my best used parts.
Very cool! I have the radial Wide Ovals and they actually ride nice. That would look great in my trunk. If you're planning on running a set of those, I suggest the radials and also suggest getting on the order list now.
