I believe you are correct. Looked through photos and saw pw switches mounted on the door panels of some cars. The factory apparently decided to go ahead and use first design trim panels rather than discard them. Sure looks strange with the gap in the trim for no reason.

    Except for a color change?

Heres the twin to the vegas car. They both look like a lemonwood or butternut yellow to me. Screenshot_20171228-230342.jpg

Wow that really is almost identical. Where did you see that car? Could it be the same car with a couple things changed (center caps and sticker on the windshield).

Looks like the same color as the GS400 from the 1967 color and trim book. This had to be Ivory/Code T but it sure looks more yellow than the Ivory color sample chip.

I have a friend with an original Ivory/code T '67 GS400 and it's just an off-white color as you would imagine it to be, and like the Ivory color sample chip in the color and trim book. That photo in the color and trim book of the GS400 with the lady standing in front of it is deceiving.

Being painted a different shade than it was originally may explain why the inside edges of the front fenders are painted black on the Craigslist car. Someone took the easy way and just blacked them. Still a nice car, just not "all original" as advertised.

I did not notice anyone else chiming in but the back valance behind the trunk is not painted flat black. All GS400 cars were painted flat black behind the trunk lid.

As far as i know all 67 buick intermediates were painted black in the area around the tail lights and trunk lip from the factory.
Definitely a sign of a repaint somewhere along the line on this one. Good eye!

My two convertibles include power windows and here are photos of one of the rear arm rests with power button on arm rest. Also a photo of a manual window crank with chrome missing from another convertible.

That's weird - The '67 GS I just parted out had the rear window switches mounted in the location of the window crank. so I guess there are three possibilities for '67:
    1) switch mounted on the armrest with the interrupted trim for a window crank on the panel.
    2) switch mounted on the armrest with the un-interupted trim as with Chuck's car.
    3) switch mounted on the door panel with interrupted trim strip.

It would be interesting to know the build dates of those different versions. My parts cars had an 11E build date. The switch was located where the plastic cup in the door is located in the photo below.

If I remember correctly hardtop rear PW switch was where the manual window crank was, and conv was in the arm rest.

That makes sense - I wonder why they would have been in different locations for hardtop vs. convertible? I can't think of a good reason why but then I haven't had my normal 2 cups of coffee yet so the brain isn't at 100%.

I think either different plants put it in diffrent locations or early production used 66 style panels.
With only 21xx built we may never know.
Seems that approx 60 of them have actually been located.
I do know of 3 in the upstate if sc. 2 are drivers and 1 is in need of a restoration

I checked my little list of GS400 convertibles and this same car has been for sale several times. I've got photos and descriptions of it from listings on ebay, another online listing (not ebay), and even from the Barrett Jackson website where it was run through the auction in the past. It had the full VIN listed a few times so it's easy to verify it's the same car and the engine also has some distinctive things like the incomplete smog system and pinched off pipe from the air cleaner that is visible in every ad.
