Nice car. It's set up for a smog pump (which is missing) so it must have been sold in California before it wound up in Utah.

Awesome car, has power windows I notice, but no A/C. 23,000 less miles than then one I bought on Dec 2 Mecum Kansas City. I don't need a third 67 GS 400 convertible but if I did not have one I would give this one very serious consideration.

It is a nice lookin' car that has me skeptical on it's "all original, never restored" claim. Too bad there's no cowl tag pic to see what color it's supposed to be. It looks to me like it's a shade of yellow, but it could be ivory. There's several things that lead me to think it may not be as original as claimed to be, such as, no pinstripes, black painted armrest bases and a jack that's painted red. It also has fenders painted black under hood that should be body color. Still, a very sharp '67 GS that I wouldn't mind owning.

  6. I'd bet that front bumper has been rechromed.. it's exceptionally shiny for it's age

I agree with you guys. Definitely has had work done to it. As has been mentioned, set up for smog, no pinstripes, fenders painted black, armrests.....all the pics are a bit too far away to get a real good look. Intentional? Maybe.

I would still love to have the car, don't get me wrong. I would just prefer that it was advertised for what it truly is.

If it spent any number of years actually being driven like a regular car in Salt Lake City, it most definitely has at least a repaint and probably fender and quarter repairs. New cars rust there in under 5 years.

    Are those skylark center caps?
Does not look like the tri shield ones.
    Still a beautiful car tho!

Supposedly the early build '67 cars used the red bird center caps instead of the tri-shield caps. I am not absolutely sure if this is true or when the switchover took place.

I have not ever heard that but i wont argue cause they did a lot of wierd things back then lol.
I will say car isnt too early tho cause it does not have the extentions on the front lower fenders

I had doubts about the red center caps with birds being used on new '67s until a board member, Tom Miller, posted vintage photos of the new '67 GS400 4-speed his parents bought and it clearly had the red centers from the factory. He taught me something.

    early fender trim on '67.JPG

The very early '67s had front fender trim similar to a '66. Sorry this isn't a great photo but it's all I had handy.

Something I see on this car that I've seen several times over the years on '67s is a car with power windows that left the factory with rear door panels that were supposed to be installed on a car will manual window cranks. I bet I've seen 5 or 6 original cars built this way and from different assembly plants too.

A power window convertible normally has a single long piece of trim, whereas a car with manual windows would have an interrupted piece of trim for the window crank. Photo of each is shown for comparison. I guess the factory figured that if they just didn't punch the hole for the window crank the customer wouldn't notice?

Does this car appear to be yellow to anyone else besides me?

  17. Looks like fresh bamboo cream to me. Very similar to my 65 GS when the paint was new

It may be but, that wasn't available in '67. Ivory is probably the closest to your bamboo cream. This car shows up on my monitor as a shade of yellow, like some other GM cars of the era. I don't know if it's me, my monitor or the car.

Thanks I just learned something new. As a matter of fact, this entire thread is very informative.

Buquick i believe the early 67s had the switch up high and the later ones had it on the armrest. Ive seen 67s both ways.
George needs to chime in on those switches i believe he knows more details.
I think 66s had the switch up high.
    Can anyone verify?
