I haven't been able to sell my car, so now I'm looking to sell just the engine. I've had this engine since I built the car in 2000. It only has about 80 passes on it and about 50 street miles. I recently popped the head gaskets and took it to Scotty Guadagno for a rebuild. He replaced the crank, all new bearings, new rings, new valve springs, new oil pump gears, and put a new TA oil pan on it.

    462 Buick - .030 over
Originally assembled by Mike at TA.
Buick block, TA girdle, all the oiling mods, AN oil bypass line
    Buick crank, .010/.010
TA 7 qt oil pan and pick-up with temperature sensor
    TA front cover
TA Sportsman rods, Ross pistons, 14:1 compression
Flat-tappet solid cam (0.640 lift, 268@.050 ), Rollmaster timing chain, teflon coated bearings.
TA Stage 2 SE heads ported by Gessler (flow 335@.600), 2.16/1.75 valves with 11/32 stems, TA 1.65 Roller Rockers, Manton 5/16" 0.120-wall pushrods, TA cast alum valve covers.
SPX intake, Dominator flange, port work in the plenum, Jet Hot coated.
HEI distributor body, locked out, set-up for external coil and MSD trigger.
    ATI Balancer, external balance
    JW SFI flexplate.
    System 1 cleanable oil filter
    Powermaster starter

    Carb is NOT included.

This engine was in the car when it went 9.93@131 at 3550 lbs. You will spend at least $15,000 to duplicate this engine brand new. With the recent rebuild, this engine is virtually new again. I am asking $8,500 for it. The headers will be available to whoever buys the engine at a fair price, not before.

I'm going in a different direction, mainly so I can run pump gas. Let me know if you have any questions. I won't be able to ship this thing, but I would be willing to meet someone within a couple hundred miles.

I can only wish but what kind of power does it make?

If you do the math based on mph and weight, it's around 680 realistically, or maybe 700 (?) at the flywheel.

Jeff, what motor do you plan to put in it?

Don't know for sure. It will be pump gas friendly, though. I just paid $11/gal for C12. That's crazy!:eek2: Also, I need something I can use (play with) more than just on race day.

No offers? There's more in parts than what I'm asking for it.

    Jeff,
I seriously considered doing that before I posted this, but I really think this engine needs to stay as one unit. It's a good proven combination with all good parts. Thanks anyways.

    Bump.

Just think - a running engine for only $1000 more than a bare block from TA!

    Bump to the top.

I have somebody that expressed an interest in the entire engine, so he gets first choice. I'll keep you all posted. Just in case, I guess if somebody wants the top end and somebody else wants the bottom end, you two can get together and work it out? I can ship the parts seperately.

    Thanks.
