I'm proposing we all meet up at the Dick Miller race at Norwalk, OH July 24 2016. We can pit together and put faces to the names. I'll have my blue car ready to run 13.50's Mark should have the bugs worked out by then. Gary can have his stock blueprint engine together. Buhog can blow the cobwebs out. Mart will have his SP3 dialed in. This car should do really well with that part. Derek might have his project ready or at least can show off those NASCAR rods and 350 head sections. Maybe the SS Regal can make it and show us a 10 second run. Maybe TA will have a head sample to show off. Maybe a little far for Sean and Nick to make it for 1 day but would like to meet you guys. I'll try to get Chris to bring out the blown Gasser "Hairy Canary" Sorry for anyone I've not mentioned, just shooting from the hip here. All would be welcome Who's in?
That would be up to Andy if the stroker project gets done because I am just building it for him, he is funding it. Unfortunately for Andy, I just started a new job and won't have the time I had this year to spend on his project. My new job is going to require me to do some traveling and am told that I will be away 70% of the time sent to Canada, Korea, China, Brazil, India, Great Britain, Mexico and various states here. I do have most of the Buick specific specialty machining done, it needs to go to Dave's shop now to have it bored and honed, decked, block filled and line honed and he needs at least a deposit to get that part started. Anyway when Andy is ready to go forward I will do what I can when I'm around. But probably won't be able to make that event, may possibly be out of the country. Derek
Thanks for thinking of me... My car is away for winter, snow is here to stay till spring. It would be great to meet you guys in person but it's tough to find time to make long trips. At some point I would like to be in my car to a large event in the U.S. Once it's all dialed in and reliable with the alum head, girdled engine.
http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...&highlight=70'+post+skylark+back+at+the+track I would be interested,. but can't promise anything right now... We haven't changed anything since the last posting... Car still run;s pretty good...
I too cannot promise anything, but it would be awesome to meet up with you all. I've been working on a project (somewhat) with my brother and his '68 Pontiac convertible... If a couple of things follow through, my plans will come to fruition earlier than anticipated, so who knows--July of next year might be doable after all! (Again, no promises) I think you guys would freak out if you saw me in person. lol No way these words match up to the visual appearance that would greet you... (don't expect to see some clean shaven scrawny nerdy type!) Hey just because a guy can benchpress a Buick 350 doesn't mean he ain't gots no brains. Oh yeah and I might be missing a leg and walking on crutches too, so don't let that alarm you. It was a shotgun accident 21 years ago, not a car wreck. lol So no manual transmissions for me, strictly automatics...but if you think I can't still drive the hell out of a car, you'd be sadly mistaken! :Brow: Gary
Im going for sure! I have a hand written reminder note taped to the cupboard doors (been there since it was first posted on V8) for July@Norwalk LOL, my memory sucks! Im starting my "debugging" this morning, so Im ready for the spring:TU:
Depends on $$$$ and the boss if I can attend or not. be about 1200 miles. The wagon would be driven too. Tim
