Lets wish the guys down at AM&P the best of luck next week at this year's Popular Hot Rodding Engine Masters Challenge. I know Mike and the boyz have been burning the midnight oil to get this little beast together for next week's competition. I think they are scheduled to make their dyno pulls with the little ole' pump gas Buick on Thursday. Good Luck Guys :TU:
Best wishes in the engine challenge Mike. Myself and all the Board of directors from the BPG are Pullin" for you and the AM&P team!!! Bruce
Barring part failure,AM&P will make a great showing.Everybody knows about their performance builds, not just Buick people, and they'll be looking at what's new! Here's to them :beer .
Buick Power!!! Best of Luck to the AM&P Team!!! Then with the results from the challenge send them over to Car Craft Mag. They left Buick out of the 500 hp combos article. :spank: November issue!!! :moonu:
Then with the results from the challenge send them over to Car Craft Mag. They left Buick out of the 500 hp combos article. yeah, i noticed that. it's like they went out of their way to piss us Buick people off. :moonu: they had every GM brand BUT us, didn't they? :af:
Go get 'em, Mike. I'm proud to say that I know you and even have some of your products. All the Buick guys are pulling for you.
I spoke to Mike on Friday just before shipping out to NY. Now he is not predicting a win, but 653hp and 580lb ft of torque should make for an impressive showing for a 'little' 434cuin motor. And guys unlike previous years, without a sponsor/customer Mike has had to fund this himself, so if you fancy owning something special give 'em a call. And don't forget to write to Popular Hot Rodding to thank them for the last AM&P installment........Excellent!!
They've got a daily update section on the PHR website: http://www.popularhotrodding.com/enginemasters/challenge/2006/0610em_2006_challenge_results/
From the Popular Hot Rodding site:  Average Torque Average Horsepower Pull #1 515 449.6 Pull #2 513 447.9 Pull #3 513 448.1 Averages -- 513.7 TQ / 448.5 HP Total Score = 962.2 Team 9, Automotive Machine came to the Engine Masters Challenge with another Buick, repeating their loyalty to the make after competing with a powerful Buick entry last year. This year's entry featured T/A Performance heads, and with the cubic displacement some 70 cubes less than that required last year, we felt a Buick at that displacement could be a wildcard. Interestingly, while these Buick engines are known for torque, this entry was leaning more towards top-end power, with 647 showing at 6400 rpm, and 517 Lb-Ft of torque. The Buick team posted a score of 962.3. :TU:
engine masters W :Smarty: ould like to say thanks to mike and automotive machine for giving it there best but again i must ask the same question as last year and that is where was t/a, poston and bulldog.
Way To Go...... Congratulations to the AM&P guys. Those are some pretty stout numbers for a pump gas 430 cu. in. Buick :TU:
Yep, it would be nice to see other Buick engine builders in these competitions, but I must cost some big $$$ just to get the engine and crew on-site. Where you expecting Postons or Bulldog to build their own engines, or just sponsor an engine builder? I don't think none of the vendors mentioned above have anything to lose by not entering these competitions. They'll continue to sell parts regardless of whether they do or don't enter these competitions. :TU: to AM&P
Boy the Ford's were kings except for Kasse's one Pontiac entry. The one Ford that lost the Kasse Pontiac in the Semis came back to nip him in the Finals. You have to admit the Fords had it going.
