Finally I may be getting a set. It seems its in the works by a few companies, but as the old lady said years back, "Where's the beef!?"

Well my marathon engine is almost off to the dyno, being built by Rob Chilenski at Stage 1 Auto. In between he had built a set of
2 1/8" headers for his GS (so he thinks it will stay on his engine :Brow: and it is done and HPC coated. Real nice! the number 8 and 7 tubes go over the frame rail similar to the Hooker Headers, but what is different is there is NO 2 piece slip tube. The header is in two pieces with the number 7 and 8 tubes being one piece each and slips into the collector. We will have my engine dynoed with both the Hooker 2" and his 2 1/8" headers to compare. I hope he starts building a second set....he may need it for "his" car.

Note: AC cars and inner fender wells will not fit with these headers.

    Check out the valve covers.

    Rick,

    Very Nice!

You're running tubular control arms on your 9sec car? Interesting. Did you do that just to clear the headers? That's what forced me to do it.. I wanted them anyway, tho'.

    Hi Guys,

Rick....I know the feeling! I've been making regular calls concerning them. I might have a further problem though as I need them to fit into my '86 Regal in which I'm keeping my inner fenders and most definately my AC!:TU: I'm begining to think custom is going to be my only route. I had TA's 2" but my buddy's SF600 says I need bigger after we flowed them with the headers attached and my numbers were down by almost 30cfm @ .600 lift.:eek2: Some juice is also planned so I know for sure I could use the 2 1/8", heck...maybe even a step 2 1/8" to 2 1/4" would be better!:Brow:

The shots shown are of Rob Chilenski's GS with the headers. My GS has the same set-up. The first set Rob was doing for himself.....well maybe I can get that first set and he can make up another for his GS:laugh:

I switched over to the Tubular control arms for the weight savings. Made the switch when I installed the Wildwood disc brakes

    Very impressive!!!!!!!!!

    Headers ......Sweet:TU:

    Valve covers.....again, sweet:TU:

But the most trick thing I see(or dont see)are those wire-less plug wires.......:Brow: I mean we have really gotten high-tech now!

Messing with you guys, love the pieces......

Just wanted to let you guys know, (Rick) the headers are for sale to the highest bidder. I know the total time I put into them would make them worth $1200.00 plus the $300.00 for jet hot coating.
The Guys at my shop called the headers 1 million hour pipes!!!!
The dyno well tell if they are worth all the work!!:Dou:
The next set should go faster!!!!:Brow:

PS: Those Valve Covers are sweet!!Thanks Rob Giroux. Precision Billet!!:)

    Hi Guys,
Have the 2-1/8" Headers been dyno tested yet ? I am interested in the results compaired to the 2". I have a set of 2-1/8" on my Stage 1 Apollo and I know it helped it's performance.

We are hitting the dyno the first week of July and will compare the 2 1/8 against the Hooker 2" headers. I will definately post the results.

Rick.....It's OFFICIALLY the first (FULL) week of July! Any news yet on gains or losses one way or the other with the 2 1/8" vs the 2" primary headers??:Brow: :Do No:

Thanks for any and all info..:TU:

I talked to Rick today and he said Rob Chilenski is planning to have the motor on the dyno on Monday of next week. If at all possible, I will be there. :TU:

This thread kinda died, but I am sure Rick or Rob can refresh our memory on how the 2 1/8 headers did on Ricks motor. I recall it being something like 30 HP.

The reason I bring it up, is I just called TA to inquire about a set for another project, and low and behold, TA now has these in stock, for immediate delivery..

Cost is $595, which is a whole lot cheaper than $1200...

    Jim,

Do you recall if TA had 2-1/8" headers for a Stage-1 heads?

    Thanks,

    John

    John, that's what they are..

STG 1 headers, with 2 1/8 primaries and they are not fenderwell headers.. they fit inside the frame rails, like the smaller headers do.

    30 Hp, Wow!

What was the horsepower with the 2" headers?
What was the horsepower with the 2-1/8" headers?
Was the tests ran on Iron Stage 1 Heads?

A gain of 30 HP is impressive, but in most test, we all know a motor below 500 HP will show a larger gain than a motor over 650 HP with the same parts being interchanged.

Flow test were conducted on my headers and published in a past issue of the GSXtra. I have been wanting to Dyno them against others. Never seem to have them off at the proper time to do so.

Thanks Jim. Looks like I may be squeezing a little more out of my iron head combo. :)
