gotcha a 73 with a factory th400 is a bolt in deal as well was my point. also the 73 rear end will swap in if you have that weak 7.5 or a later 8.5 30 spline but they have 5x5 bolt patterns
quick question the old driveshaft how long is it? i may buy it from you. i need a longer one for my 700r4 swap in centurion. that may be long enough. ill have to measure.
As far as I know the a body/g body was always the small gm pattern, it was the b bodies like the Impala and such that were 5x5
yes it is im saying the later 8.5 offered in the b bodies. they are only ones that are factory 30 spline and they are all 5x5. you can swap the bigger front rotors and the 30 spline 8.5 from a 9c1 or later b body if you want stronger parts then you have 5x5 bp. but if you want a 8.5 and keep 5x4.74 use a 73-77 a body. both bolt right in your car. the 73-77 is 28 spline. that 455 may murder the 7.5.
Ahh okay I got confused, also they are very rare but there was a 12 bolt option in the early 70s a bodies
yeah chevrolet and pontiac had 12 bolts iirc in the 71-72 cars with big blocks. idk if any 73 up had them. the top mounting points are different though on a 71-72 vs 73 up.
That must be a rare one. I used to have a 1973 El Camino with the numbers matching 454 in it, and it had an 8.5 10-bolt from the factory. It was a posi though. That car did awesome burnouts!
