I really like this car ! It has it's issues, minor ones in my opinion. If the carb. and distributor are correct, everything else should be a relative easy fix.
My car has basically zero options, we did all the work except chrome and top and that was not cheap, so the cost of this restoration (if everything works) had to be astronomical !
The A/C muffler is in the same location as my 72 cutlass and is probably correct .. One thing, I know is not correct (or safe) are the 2 front brake hoses .
Late 1971 and all 1972 Buick/Olds A bodies used a step in the mounting block and a shorter banjo bolt.. other than Centric brake parts, every other mfg.lists the 1970-72 hoses as the same.. I suggest using the 1970 banjo bolt when using these generic parts...

I still can't believe no one on this forum knows of this car or who owned it..

I hope this car sells for a ton of money, maybe not w30 money but close..

    Regard........ Frank

The muffler may be correct for Olds, but I can't say as I have ever seen it positioned as such on a 72 Buick. Aside from that, I cannot take exception to anything you have stated.

    Cheers

I have a 72 with AC here and the muffler is in the standard spot with the metal bracket below the compressor. 100% sure it’s original.

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

The A/C muffler on this car is definitely not correct for a '72 Buick A-body.

Despite the list of of faults that are being noted, this is a rare and gorgeous car that I would be proud to own. It should not have been awarded 994 points at MCACN (it was obviously judged by someone that doesn't know Buicks) but if someone really wanted this car to be more concours correct the average enthusiast could fix most of the items. The exception would be the paintwork required to remove the rear spoiler.

On the A/C muffler .. I should have said : It appears to be a GM part in function and fit for both Olds and Buick. I now know it is Not factory correct for this application.. -
    Thank you for the correction.

The window sticker shown is a reproduction I made back in 2017 so I have the name of the owner back then, not sure if he was/is a member here or someone who got my contact info elsewhere.

That's likely true for Oldsmobile, too. My '73 Olds was an 88. The elements on the glass added 10% of the cost to a new convertible top. But, That rear defrost is needed year round in a convertible for driving in wet weather .

Can one of you educate me: on the rear window defrost option this car has: is it an electric fan type defogger or does this have the electric grid in the convertible top glass? Years ago I had a 72 cutlass supreme hardtop that had the electric grid in the glass. It was absolutely factory, not aftermarket. It’s the only A body I have ever seen with this option. Was this ever available on convertible?
