Also Ken, I screwed up on the wall thickness of the insulation. Somehow from caliper to brain to fingers the measurment changed. It is actually 1/8" thick. I just re-checked it. Hope this did not cause problem.

Here is 2 pixs. Sorry of grainy quality but they are from Blackberry. Also when I look on billing shows description only as General Item. 1970-71 Buick GS P/S Hose set - $55.00

In-Line Tube has done some very stunning restos and do a lot of research before many parts are re-done. I know they are very good at making parts correct.
Call them and ask for John Kryta he is one of the owners and who I dealt with directly.

    I hope this helps. Dave

Comes with no protective insulation but would say line is silver zinc plated.
I did not measure overall length though.

Dave (Buiyak) that line looks good. The crimps look a little different than the one Dave (Copperhead) took off an original '71 car, but much closer than most.

I guess we will have to ask Yoda (Duane) to comment on what is currently acceptable according to judging current knowledge (which is subject to change if that knowledge base improves) in terms of color (silver, gold cad, some combination of).

I thought the insulation seemed a bit thick, 1/8 seems more in line. Guess we're back to hand grip material as I can't find anything in insulation that thin. If these end up getting made at Jason's local shop, then they can slip on the insulation prior to crimping.

I agree that Inline Tube makes some very nice parts. But -- as with any vendor -- not every part is perfect, and not every customer is satisfied. I'll just leave it at that.

More germain to the discussion at hand, at a recent swap meet I held up one of their power steering pressure hoses (for a different model) and asked the man if they guarantee that the two ends are "clocked" correctly with respect to each other so that the hose won't have a bad twist in it when installed. He was unwilling to make that statement. That doesn't mean that hose or any other is wrong. But it concerned me that they weren't more certain of their product's quality, or at least didn't immediately tell me that if it is wrong, send it back and we'll make it right.

The two original hoses I have both have different style crimps. Both are different to Inline tubes. It would be nice if Jason's guy can get it right and with insulation. As far as Inline Tube not all their parts are right on. My friend bought their Idler arm bolt kit. Well the bolts were too short, so much so the nut could not even be started when it was installed. The bolts were also grade 5 and originals were grade #8. The washers were also much smaller and thiner than original. I do not think they could handle the torque spec. This was just a month ago so their R+d depart is not all on the ball. We had to use his original stuff. AMK now has the correct Grade #8 bolts that appear correct lenght.

Oh, I am sure there is some things they are off the ball on for sure. But all vendors have their screw-ups. I have seen it through Parts Place, Ames, Year One, Performance Years and T/A performance.
I have not to this point had any problems with In-Line, not to say it will not happen or has happened to someone else.

What makes a good vendor is when they make it right in the end. I can say for the sake of here that T/A did for me make me happy in the end.

Any how, back to the hose...it does not seem twisted and does have the correct bends and finish.
The negative of it is not correct crimps to your pixs of hose (Very similar to my original hose though), it does not have the protective insulation. Also no GM Parts numbers on either pressure hose or return line.

    I hope that helps out.
    Thanx Dave

I have a line on some insulation and have asked for samples to be sent. I am waiting for a positive reply back. I'll let you know if that pans out and if so I'll bring the samples to Ohio to compare to your originals, Dave. If it looks acceptable and Jason's shop comes through, then we may be in business. :TU:
