Is this the same car that was on the board for a bazillion dollars, then 60k? You know, the one with the pissy owner?

I'm not sure it has the correct ribbed center caps on it from the photos provided. o_O;)

Yep, the ultra rare 71-72 ribbed center caps! While it’s true that the production numbers on these cars were low, they just don’t bring the money that the 70 cars do. My 71 Stage 1 car is the only 67 67 paint code car in the registry for 1971. That doesn’t make it worth a crap load of money.

I wonder if the price of real estate in the home region has something to do with the inflated price. For a 60 year old, 2300 square foot home around there you're talking about plunking down almost $3,000,000. That is in the Santa Cruz mountains just south of the heart of Silicon Valley.

I have a friend in the area with a 71 S-1 convertible in some kind of green color, don't remember exactly, the Sloan museum told him its the only one of that color in existence .He's just redone the motor, then the transmission went. That's been done now.Bruno.

the asking price is not to far out of line ,,,,IMO 71 stage verts are cooler than 70 for many reasons,,N25,nickle plated valves all set up for low/no lead, frames are heavier,, grill is super cool, standard disc brakes ,production numbers way lower, last year one sold for 96K,all # match, incl. carb dist, one owner, massive factory docs, every option except speed alert..........all factory rot free metal,,best of the best,,, this one not as loaded ,color not the best ,but if it is a nut/bolt resto, factory metal, # match,,,,GM paperwork......their not making more!!!!!!

I respect your opinion, but this car is nowhere near the Museum Piece that could command #90K, its more in the arena of $45k, its a nice driver quality car nothing more, and like you said not a great color or buckets and has added spoiler, hood tach and lots of dust etc........and the only thing made in GS's that's cooler than the 70's would be the 71-72 GSX's........ all IMHO.

Just curious if you've seen this car in person (not the one we all know about with it's issues, but the one posted in this CL lead). I see the spoiler and hood tach, but not much else.....but I agree, 99k is fairly ridiculous for something that isn't 100% dead nuts on factory fresh.

If you cannot accept some critique of a car, do not read the posts. If you feel a need to call other members assholes for expressing their opinions about a car, go to another Board.

Sticks and stones........We all have opinions and when a car comes onto the WW web a guy had better expect public scrutiny and to get called out when its, dumb, over-stated, exaggerated dishonest or ridiculous etc.....If a guy uses honesty and integrity then I believe he would take everything in stride and with a grain of salt.

No I have not, but if I can see just from the pictures the obvious condition and flaws from a picture, then in person it will drop from the lofty heights even quicker. Its a really nice car IMO, that's why it could command top money in the current market, around $45k, but not 2007 Museum piece standards.

"Let's just buy and sell some parts folks, and keep the commetary to ourselves, or in other appropriate forums. It's, at the very least, rude to break up someone's for sale ad with your personal views on prevailing pricing trends, or other non-sale related information"
This was from the cars for sale section "read me"
This may or may not be the same for leads section but it should be.
Just plain ole picking a car apart that you have no history with just aint right
