This one sold a couple weeks ago for 35 k https://www.gaaclassiccars.com/vehicles/34664/1970-buick-gs-455
Nice Tribute X but the one on eBay had Sloan documents verification as an original Stage 1 with almost no options so a higher price makes a little more sense. $20K more? There were 4 bidders over $50K, myself included.
For sale again & m/l exactly what I said here: https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/70-stage-1-on-bat.382851/#post-3360430
Seller has/was bidding on his own auction. I spoke to him and he told me it would take 45k if I remember correctly.
Idk if as a well-done clone w/S1 pedigree & no orig. drivetrain if is worth that. Tough car to value. I'd want to restore it to it's original stripper form (prob. reduce the value) so there'd be a lot to sell & a lot that could be reused and some parts to buy.
I didn't think it was worth that. Interesting, when I found out that info the car was selling at no reserve and was only in the 30s at the time. Which is why I say he was bidding on his own car.
The Seller/Consignor should be banned from the auction site for bidding on his own auction. Most auction sites strictly prohibit that. It's deceptive and runs the price up giving the impression that more people want the car.
You are right Ray, I guess they probably get one of their buddies to bid for them so it doesn't come back on the seller.
