I really like the colors, but how does a 14K mile car not have its original carb and distributor?

I was wondering the same thing. Then I noticed the sticker on the air cleaner lid, the Q-Jet got replaced by a Holley... Don't know about the distributor...

IMO I would say 114,500 miles at best. I have seen 50,000 - 100,000 mile cars way better than that.

I had one with this same color combo once. Love it!

Carb and distributor gone at 14,500? There's more to the story than the ad is representing.

Did not see that, why would you cut those exhaust tips like that:error: The painted grill bothers me also.

Weird car, some parts look very clean that would make you think 14K miles but others look like 114K. If it wears its original paint I would say 14K miles, especially if it lived in NY state its whole life. Sloan Docs would be nice to see.

    Nice looking combo though...

Its not so surprising that the carb and dist are missing. Remember, in the mid 70's, this car was considered just a used car. Probably worth no more than $1800. Its got a Holley carb on it so maybe the owner wanted to use it the way it was intended? Who gave a crap about numbers in 1978 anyway? It wouldn't surprise me if the original distributor got returned as a core.

Anyway, it seems to have all the earmarks of a low mileage car

I want the Sequential VIN! Wonder if that is the real VIN. Anyone else notice that?

Car was advertised in Hemmings prior to Ebay. Cop owned it originally, died and estate sold it. Been sitting in a pole barn in NY since 1995. New owner is Pontiac collector and was taking bids in the mid to low 40s but wouldnt really comment as to what an exact buy price would be for him to sell the car. I am interested in the undercarriage as there seems to be a vibe that the photos taken are selected specifically and could be more detailed IMO.

Sweet car nonetheless and love the blue interior. Hmmm.....

I recall meeting a guy this past summer at a cruise-in who told me about a car that sort of matches Tony's description. He said he bought the car from an estate in the Binghamton, NY area and was asking me about it's value. He did tell me the orig carb was missing and I told him that probably would take maybe $2.5-3K off. I don't remember him saying anything about the dizzy. He said he really wasn't a Buick guy though.

Again, if anyone wants me to, I can look at it.

I think you'd really have to inspect the wear surfaces and textures to be able to tell the actual mileage claim. At 14.5K miles, there should be extraordinarily little wear to all normal 'touch' surfaces (steering wheel, brake pedal, driver side armrest pad and door panel, door strikers & seatbelt buttons, etc.).

I absolutely love the color combo and lack of AC. I think it could be the right miles. My late father's Wildcat has low mileage but several of the bolt on parts were changed by the dealer when stuff broke. I am more surprised by the distributor than the carb. Even my stage 1 car had a later date code carb because the original owner just had them put a new stage 1 PN carb on it in 1977 when it started to run crappy instead of rebuilding the one on the car.

Dig that Blue Thumb Groove Rallye Steering Wheel!

Check out the drivers side door lock - it sure looks odd

The driver's door lock was popped on the car, and it damaged the metal. Looks like a steel plumbing cap was used to plug the hole. Pretty sure the cap he used was NOS.....
