That's a factory power antenna and correct location, see the accessory switch in dash. Pic of trunk area would show that much better. Nice car, lots of changes made (non factory) type stuff but still nice. Hard to confirm was rust free, no rust all original panels etc. after a repaint but still a nice car as it is. Maybe a little high but not to someone looking for the right car.

Edit: - DBS posted while I was typing...He is correct.

My first 69 400 came with the rear power antenna option. Looked so cool when it was up. Made the front end look a lot cleaner having it in the back.

I did not know a factory power antenna was an option. Thanks for the education.

I love the way that antenna looks. I wish I would have made that change when I had the body done.

I do as well, looks much better there and sticking up on the front fender. Thought about adding as well but not available on the convertibles.

A little of the cuff.. There was no factory tach available on any 68 or 69 GS's? or would the 4 speed with the consolete have one?

Correct - 4 Speed factory tach would be in the consolette.

A nice car but it's priced in 1970 territory. Appears to be a a car that should be in the 28 to 32k range at most. Looks to be sitting to low in the front end. A coil change would do wonders in the stance department.

Thanks gd2227, I noticed your from MA and I just have to post this kinda sad car story even though its a bit of the cuff.
Back in 79 or 80 I was going home from high school and was on the far left lane at a light on Beacon St. in Brookline ready to do a left in my 66 GS. A older woman Grand Motherly type pulls up to my right at the light driving this mint, mint, mint Gold 69 GS Stage1, proud as she could possibly be in a nice way as my friend an I couldn't stop drooling. I take a left and seconds later I hear brake tire squeal and a bash. This poor women hit a car in front of her with this beautiful which had to be stored from new GS. Not a total by any means but yes some front damage.
Till this day I can't get it out of my head and wondering where this car is as I can't see someone not keeping this GS in showroom shape..It might of had a brown interior as far as I remember.
