Shame these weren't restored back then as I've done much worse lately.

No, that''s not it. According to the daily reports, there was only ONE 1969 GS 400 4 speed SCO produced out of the Leed's plant... Per Mike Trom: "There was only one 1969 GS400 Coupe with SCO paint at the Leeds, MO plant. This could be the car".

John has a 1969 Stage 1 pictured... Is there any proof that it is a factory colored gray car? If so, that would be out of Flint. This 4 speed was the ONLY SCO out of Leeds...

Scott- I know... I was much younger/ and had a lot less money to play with back then. I should've mothballed this car and restored when I could have afforded it. Like many other's, there are a host of Buicks I should've just kept and been "done"... However, it is a "sickness" that I still haven't cured. LOL.

The car went to NY and was chopped up and parted out. I had found a 1971 Skylark Post Coupe in Norwood, MA with a fully Kenne-Bell built 350, Th350 trans, 10 bolt Olds posi... I contacted Mike in NY and said I would trade the Skylark for the 69 400 body. For another amount of money, I was able to buy most of the parts off of him, along with MANY of the 68 parts- fenders, doors, inner fenders, rad support, etc.

Here is the car in my driveway..

I began to pull the car apart and found this on both sides of the cowl, along with the original paint color..

Wow ! Yes, we have seen much worse resurrected now. We didn't know how good we had it back then! One of these days I will find out what the SCO on my Flint built car represented. Merry Christmas George !

George, yes on the Flint built 69. Only 101 SCO paint at all plants. Wish there was a registry for those.

Thanks for posting. Somebody had a thread on here recently where they posted up older photo's including a red '68 Charger 383 IIRC. Linky anyone?
