All the parts you have, you'd think you'd get the correct caps and what's with the red light? http://v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=123223&d=1223400526 Do the GS verts have the chrome on the bottom? I thought it was only customso No: Nice car, someday I'll have one or should I say have one that's together
Yea the red lights really look better than the correct ones I think you sould install some of that neon rope lighting under the car, red of course:moonu: Sure rub salt in a wound, I'll dive it somedayou:
LOL I believe that is why there are yellow bulbs out there (unless they have discontinued them ), because I think the clear ones are illegal as well. Not busting on you, as I have to figure something out for my 68. I have been debating on going the LED route.
Dana has that thing looking sweet! If you would have bought the 4 speed, you still would have found the wagon, you just wouldn't have been able to buy it and maybe one of us would have instead. :beers2:
Working on a 3-speed resto! Anybody have some rear trunk trim? GS 350 3-speed floor shift; Twilight Blue/ black buckets :TU:
Nice, old thread. Since the convertible has been sold, I can begin on the 'other' 69 GS 4 speed AND the soon-to-be-home 68 GS 400 4 speed. Here is where I am at with the first:
After 20+ YEARS, this Stage 1 4 speed finally has a heart!!!! This is the 'fun' engine- 69 RR 400, standard rebuild, 113A cam, B4B, 800 CFM quadrajet, headers, etc.. The RS stage will be rebuilt and made to look 'concours'- correct colors, markings, plating, etc...
Here's something for the 4 speed crowd. MOST 1969 GS 400 4 speeds that have had the radiator tag attached have had a 350 4 speed decal on it. I also confirmed this with my current 69 stage 1 4 speed and Mike B's restored 69 Stage 1 ragtop. I found this and thought it was interesting.. The decal is clearly stamped 400 STAGE 1 MAN. TRANS.
Haven't update this in a while... So... 1. For those of you on facebook, Rich Garber is getting his 69 GS 400 4 speed into paint. Here is his page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/1969-Buick-Restoration/131828133564349 Great for reference pics, progress, finishes, etc. 2. My 69 Stage is now RUNNING!! Thanks to Dave Hanlon (Dave H), who handled the front suspension, disc brake conversion, exhaust, shifter linkage and fine tuning of the engine!!! The plan is to break the engine in this week and home for final assembly this weekend. Despite the 113A cam, headers, 2.5" exhaust, it's QUIETER than the 68 350 Skylark?!?!? Pics after she returns home. I encourage ANYONE who is working on a 1968-1969 GS 4 speed to please post pics and progress on this thread!!! Thanks for stopping by!!
here is pic if my stage1 I am repainting the firewall and all parts that can be under the hood, all new front end parts(ball joints tie rods etc..) pic 2 is after many hr. with a wire brush, pic 3 is after primer. some one had it all done but I did not like the work.
