    Topcat Got TORQUE?

I would pass on this car for a restoration project......almost every bit and square inch of this car is gonna need attention.......it would be beautiful when done but not worth what it would take to get it there.

$1000.00 parts/donor car.....maybe more if it has a posi rearend.

Bill, how many restored cars are worth what the restoration cost ran?

No response from the seller. I'm going to call again tomorrow, but then work 12 hours per day 12/27 - 12/30, with the 31st & 1st off.
That's going to make it difficult to get there, if I hear back.

    Steve and others,
The seller probably thought he was just selling a regular old GM convertible and was not prepared for VIN and authentication questions from experts like you guys. He is probably thinking screw that not worth it.

C'mon, guys, cut the seller some slack, it's Christmas and he may be too hammered to care enough to go look up some stupid data plates. :D

Nobody should care about the numbers......70% of the Buicks i had over the years that should have had a 425....had 401 blocks in them......bottom line.....massive amount of work to bring this one back.....do it yourself as a labor of love....the only way it would be worth it.....that car has spent some time in a very wet environment....getting the windows and top going will be a project by itself !

    Peace WildBill

    Bill,
I agree that the 401 - 425 isn't that big of a deal. But, he is listing it as a 425 and as a GS, which it is not, and using that as justification for his price. Both of those inconsistencies lowers the price considerably in my view. I also imagine the frame is pretty bad.

I agree if he’s going to list it as a rare GS he should have anticipated verification questions.
