Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I meant as a permanent plate. Never need to register again. At least that's the way it is in many states. Hagerty Ins. gives a discount for using one.

Not much to update. Went up to Mich the week prior to the Nationals. Took a bunch of misc parts along and dropped them off with a few Buick brothers along the way. spent 3 days in Jackson hanging out with friends. While there I installed new correct stainless trans lines. The re cored factory tanked radiator and top plate.. Drove the car to the parts store to get a gal of anti freeze as it will be outside for the winter (covered).Seemed to run good but might have charging issues and something funky going on with the front drive shaft. Didnt want to lay on the ground in my buddys back yard where its stored so I'll deal with those things later. Terry had made progress stripping the skins off the donor parts. Hope to have it done and home in the spring.

Update: A few of you guys that are on FB know this already, Flew up to Michigan last weekend. Rented a car in Detroit and drove over to where the car is. She is still sitting in the same place I parked it and covered with the same tarps. Nothing other than the prep work had been done to the donor parts. Im getting into the truck in a couple of hours and driving north to bring it home. Will not leave the car up there in the snow for another winter.
Stopping along the way and picking up a A body frame from Jim Rogers to be delivered in the Det area to Rich Johns. If anyone needs something picked up and brought south that will fit into the truck let me know.

I got most of the parts of the donor car and really haven't spent enough time with the car to know what is needs are. Will keep you in mind for the future

Got the car home last night after a 2000 mile 2.5 day drive. After sitting out in the weather for over a year it started right up and drove onto the trailer. I'll get pics later after I get her off the trailer

Briz, Did you also bring back the quarter panels and bits from the parts car as well?

I did. the top is literally a rag top so I slid them in through the back window and had the rockers hang out just past the trunk lid. Everything padded and strapped down.

When I drove it while I was up there last fall there was a really bad vibration at any speed above 30 mph. found the rear part of the shaft looking like it was bent and spinning out of round. I pulled it to take it into a shop for a rebuild and then found one of the ears broke off the rear pinion. Got a parts car so its no problem. wondering if that could have caused the out of round?

I imagine that could definitely be the cause of the vibration. Good you didn't lose the driveshaft! My 74 electra spit out the driveshaft in an intersection along with a big swath of trans fluid spewing out of the tailshaft. A Mechanic at a Husky station overhauled it for me 2 days before.
