Nope, just show up and hawk your wares. We're pretty informal but John Sr. always runs a smooth event. :TU:
With the economy being what it is today, you have to choose where you get the most bang for the buck. The N.E. Mafia Cecil County event is a DO NOT MISS event. I made it last year and they even had some ProMod boys tuning their 230mph race cars for the Shake Down at E-Town event the next day. I'll be there again as this event is a BLAST ! :3gears:
Here's the track owner running the first 5 second Nitrous Pro-Mod run. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iz-0iJQv-8I&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iz-0iJQv-8I&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
We know that.ou: But Cecil in October can bring below sea level barometric pressures. And that's all that counts. :TU:
Howdy guys my first post on this forum and wanted to introduce myself for those of you that don't know me. I'm the PA rep for MAGNA. We are running the car show this year at Cecil. For the first time we have teamed up with John, the Tri-State Club & the Northeast GS/GN Club to put on the best possible car show for you guys on the east coast! Well after the fall of e-town's BOP event, this event in Cecil is now the ONLY ALL Buick show on the east coast! So clean those Buick's up and bring them out for the last time before the long winter sleep! This is our first car show but I've ran and judged many shows in the PA and NJ areas over the years. We are using a 100 point judging system and have 30 beautiful awards to give out. Good time to clean your Buick up before the winter nap and show it! I have door prizes for the show as well. I also have a ton of awesome goodies for the goodie bags we will hand out to the first 50 that enter the show. Kirban, Mickey Thompson, Glosser, Hemmings, Stoner, Meguires, Jeggs, and many more. We are doing a 50/50 as well for the event. Dennis Kirban will be at the event on Saturday he will have ZDDPlus and the ZPaste along with many used Turbo Regal parts to sell! In past years John had a "display" of Buick's but this is your time to shine in an official car show at this event. Here is the great part. For the cost of admission to get into the track ($15 bucks) you are in the show! So even if you have a older Buick daily driver why not put it in the show get some goodies and a chance to win! All for $15 bucks! You can put your car in the show and watch the racing all day. The goodie bags alone are well worth the $15 bucks to get in the show! Here is our time line for the show on Saturday... Gates open 9AM Show Registration: 9AM till NOON Door Prizes: Noon till 2pm Awards: 2pm 50/50: 9am and winner will be called at 2pm after awards. Also if you want to race AND show no problem. Pay the fee's you need to pay for that and put your car in the show, find one of the judges, and have us judge your car before you race it. Then you can take it in and out of the show area and race it as you please. We have a few show cars coming that are going to take a few passes while they are there. So that's no problem! Any questions feel free to ask! I'm working my hardest to make this one great event all around so bring your show cars out and show em off! I will take many pics of the show event and have them posted all over the net! Hope to see you all there!!
Also I can't post links yet (too new) but I have the pay out list for you racers if you haven't seen it yet!
I only have a week to get my car back together!!! Figures I get busy at work right now! Been doing doubles for a week or two and still have at least another 2 weeks. Now I'll be taking two days off? I hope it's not a problem!!
Well, I didn't make Paul & Lynn's event with the 68 Corvette and need to make this one with the 72 GS :beers2: , AL.
Yes that is true, but adding other weather factors (temp, Bar, humidity) the altimeter actually shows below sea level. Last years' event when the racing started my TAG Weather Station was showing about 100 feet below. Either way it is one of the closest to sea level tracks in the country without factoring other related weather results.
What I found relating to sea level, judging from this I would guess the track is somewhere between sea level and 534 feet above without other related weather factors. Geography Cecil County is in the northeast corner of Maryland, south of the Pennsylvania line and west of the Delaware line. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 418 square miles (1,082 km²), of which, 348 square miles (902 km²) of it is land and 70 square miles (181 km²) of it (16.69%) is water. The southern part of the county is mainly flat. North of U.S. Route 40, the terrain becomes hilly, with the most rugged hills occurring in the northwestern and north central parts of the county. The lowest elevation is sea level along the Chesapeake Bay. The highest elevation is 534 feet just below the Mason-Dixon line near Nottingham, Pennsylvania just east of U.S. Route 1. :Smarty: Better yet straight from the track info. The standing non weather relating elevation 320 feet Track Size Quarter-mile racing surface with 1/2 mile shutdown area located on 100 acres. Track Type Asphalt and concrete with 550 ft. launch pad. Well I got it back together yesterday. I let all the sealers cure overnight and fired it up today. I had too much crank pressure with the baffleless gromets on my evacuation system and it was pushing oil out my dipstick tube!! After figuring it out, I cut the gromets open and it looks good. And my bud brought me his open 20 foot trailer. Nice with a solid floor. So weather permitting, we will be there thursday night.
i am planning on going up Saturday, but the forecast is looking like sh!t. figures, but that is still a few days away...let's keep our fingers crossed.
If a bunch of you are coming down, regardless of weather,we should at least meet up for dinner something...
