Tonight, Rolled filet mignon on the grill… Greek seasoning, Florida sunshine seasoning, butter, fire, and more protein. oh, yeah, grey Poupon as well!
And the finish looks like this! Thank you to the wife for providing the excellent corn on the cob with the homemade deviled eggs!
No pictures (because it's all gone) but I made my best swiss steak tonight by far. I have always gotten cube steak but it never seemed to be as good as my grandmother's so this time I got a hand tenderizer (the one with spikes that you push down) and went at a bunch of thin chuck steaks. They're tender anyway but these literally fell apart when taking them out of the pan. Paired with baked potatoes with bacon and cheddar, what a dinner. Now I'm stuffed. Dragged through flour with salt & pepper, seared in oil, then transferred to a glass baking dish with beef gravy and sliced mushrooms. Baked at 350 for two hours, then turned down to 250 for another hour.
I had a dinner crash tonite. Only leftovers but it was great the other day. Baked chicken breast, broccoli, baked Idaho, all on the floor..... bummer. Pizza tonite.
I’m on culinary strike until I open the outdoor kitchen. I just turned the water on and started cleaning this weekend.
Made "Tik Tok Pasta" for wife and youngest kid yesterday. Simple fare, added extra veggies, and they both dug it. The roasted cherry tomatoes were a revelation.
You realize, of course, that if I was 20 years old posting food pics would be instinctive, but this here Boomer kinda forgot...
