Good morning all. I'm going to try to download some pictures from my phone. I will start in the order of the party.
For you up north people, and snowbound people. It was in the low 80s all day long, lots of sun, but I have very big shade trees
Every year I go across the street to the apartments. I climb up to the second floor and get the big picture shots.
The last picture I posted was of my nephew's motorcycle. He just got back from escorting, and attending, a veteran's funeral with other veterans. They do this for veterans that have no family. Very sad
More pictures. Yes, I have lots of them. This was Milton's burnout. He gets the award for the longest burnout, and he did it from a rolling start!
Funny story of the day, but not really. My dumb ass neighbor... He bought the blue Camero pictured in the brand X pictures. It came with an engine that would've been more suited for mosquito control. When it fired up it literally smoked out the neighborhood. I gave him my old boat engine. It was the first engine I ever rebuilt. I used it in my 1980 20 foot Formula for 12 years. My boat died, but the engine was perfect! I got tired of the engine sitting in my garage taking up space, so I gave it to John. I can't tell you how many times we've seen him start it up and rev the hell out of it when it's cold. He never drives his car anywhere! In a test drive, I drove it further than John has ever driven it!!! He got a DUI a couple years ago. So even if he's only had one beer he won't drive it anywhere. He never goes on car cruises with us, and we go almost every Saturday night. So Saturday I had the Buick Get Together. After a few beers, (I told you he was a D.A.), he starts his car up and does one tire fires up and down the street. Quite frankly, it was embarrassing! The show was not even close to the end. You want to bring the cops to us already!!! D.A.!!!!!! By the end of the day he decided to do more. He revved the hell out of it, popped the clutch, and proceeded to do another giant 1 tire burnout. He revved it up soooo high, I can only guess 7 or 8,000 RPM, that he blew a head gasket. When he came back to his driveway steam, and blue smoke were coming out of the right side exhaust. That should keep him off of the streets for along time. Some people should NOT own a muscle car!
Cars and Coffee, Palm Beach... This was the first Cars and Coffee since the CHINA virus. They moved it from the parking lot of the Palm Beach Mall to Palm Beach International Speedway. This way they'd have more room, and you could test and tune race. "They" should have realized it was going to be BIG!!! The gates were supposed to open at 9 AM. A buddy of mine was there at 7:30, and he said traffic was already backed up on to the highway. We, Steve, Milton, my son, and I left at 8 AM. It was a very nice cruise until we got about 2 miles from the drag strip. Then traffic came to a screeching halt on the highway going there! You wouldn't believe how many boiled over cars were on the side of the highway. Even some new cars! It took us an hour to travel the 2 miles to the entrance. You'd start up your car, move a few feet, turn off your car, and get out of your car to talk to others. As Steve said, "I gotta go!" His car was getting very hot, so he went down the median strip to keep moving. Sorry Steve. Not what I expected. We finally got in there. OMG!!! The place was PACKED!!! Luckily a buddy of ours saved us 3 spots with the Buicks. I should have taken pictures of the backup on the highway. I should have taken pictures of my son pushing his car forward, with his 5 year old driving. A lot of people did! To funny. They did have 2 jet cars perform twice. There were tons of cars!!! I think "they" need to figure out a better way of getting in. OPEN MORE GATES!!! Sorry for the rant!
PS... I think a lot of us are SUN BURNT!!!!!!!!!! 2 full days in the Sun and I know I am! Have a GREAT DAY!!!
Did I mention I did a u-turn just past the tracks in the Hemi? It seems John Zelinga greatly underestimated the gate this time around.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. I'm sure it was a great time. Sadly I couldn't make it. See you in BG.
John that looks like such a great time! I wish I could attend but the drive from Ontario Canada to Florida is a long one and I'd have to do most of it in winter weather with the Riv, which is not a great idea lol.
Looks like a great time. Is Milton's white 70 the one with the GSX stripes on the hood in the first picture? Is it a real GSX? Anyways, I didn't see any of these signs anywhere....
