The points only trigger the box acting like a switch. There is no voltage being supplied to them by the resistance wire that used to go to the coil. However you should have the main ignition box power wired directly to the battery or to an ignition switch. It should not be wired to the original wire that went to the positive side of the coil(the one that has the resistance built in). I'm sure the instructions had it the correct way. The original resistance wire can be used to activate the ignition box with the igntion key because there is an insignificant current draw by that lead and there usually is a heavy red wire that goes to the battery that supplies the real power. Strange problem that you have there. Does that problem crop up at all times or only when the N2O is used?
I get the problem all the time so i have not use it with the nitrous as i do not need it to cause more problems.when it runs right with motor only, will then try with n02.I have removed it and rewired it three times even run with electronic ignition 6100m still get the fault it is a head scratcher.

Hi guys i have just purchased a 750cfm 4160 carb and new secondary metering block to make it a 4150 any ideas on jet sizes. Will also be running car on the track next weekend.I will be taking video of my runs from in the car and have put cameras on the front and back bumpers, i will upload the video at the track as now have wifi trackside now.what with new slicks aiming to get in the 12's.
Hi guys back from the track had a great time here goes 1st 4 runs setup the new 750 carb best time no nos was 15.10 5th run 100 shot all in straight away 13.3 with new tyres 97 0ctaine fuel 26 deg timing all in at 3000. 6th run same again 7th run 150 shot as i changed into 3rd back fire through carb.Check plugs found number 8 run lean and melted plug.this was due to elderbrock pump failure. did compression check all ok with engine thank god. replaced pump with holley blue pump run again got 12.8192 no problem.all runs from then onwards stayed about that time but that was best of the weekend.
Here is a video of one of the runs from the front of the car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY4DsbaGGkU more to come got to upload them enjoy.
Good work for having 2.56 gears! Nice video as well! Regarding the jetting for your carb look back at the links I posted. Nick A. posted the jetting he was using with his 750 carb.
I would use a cam like this one: http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=1493&gid=259http:// Nick used this same cam: www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=174677
When changing a cam do you need to change the bearings and if you do how hard is it to do with the motor in the car.
