This is true and just happened in Connecticut...

Mom and dad went to work, kids went to school.

Older kids skipped school and they and some friends hung out at mom and dad's and drank beer from the 'fridge.

One kid arrived home and his parents smelled beer on his breath. He told his parents what he and his friends did. The parents called the cops.

Cops took channel 3 news and hauled mom and dad out of work in handcuffs on the news.

Both mom and dad are looking at probably 1 year in jail.

    :puzzled:

So.... I guess we have to consume all the alcohol we bring home in one sitting. Or we don't drink at home and drive home from the bar. Or we dump any left over alcohol down the drain and waste money.

Unreal. This is a state law in CT and rumor has it it will be a federal law too.

This isn't a case of parents giving alcohol to minors, here. This is just stupid! We are now responsible for every single thing that takes place in our home whether we are there or not. This isn't loaded guns, it is beer.

    oy.

In the "Good ole Days", Mom and Dad would have smelled beer on their kids breath and "kicked their butts!". They would have had too sleep on their stomachs cause their behinds would have hurt too much! :spank:
Now, mom and dad have to spend time in the hooscow cause lil' junior can't be spanked.
The reality is, all the state wants is a fine paid to make the problem go away.
Just another way of taking our hard earned bucks from us.

    UGH!

Another example of the State taking a persons God given rights away. Un-Constitutional .

  4. so now we have to lock our fridges now? Lame.

Not only that, but a dangerous precedent is being set.

Your dopey kid takes your ball peen hammer from your tool box and bashes in the skull of another kid, and YOU'RE guilty. Hey! It is YOUR hammer, after all.

Your dopey kid takes your shovel from your shed and bashes in the skull of another kid, and YOU'RE guilty. Hey! It is YOUR shovel, after all.

You play softball. Your dopey kid takes your softball bat from the trunk of your car and bashes in the skull of another kid, and YOU'RE guilty. Hey! It is YOUR bat, after all.

Your dopey kid takes your car without permission and runs over an old lady in a crosswalk, and YOU'RE guilty. Hey! It is YOUR car, after all.

This CAN'T be good. So, we're supposed to keep all our beer in a locked box or 'fridge? OK. What if they decide to break the lock and drink the beer? I'm sure mom and dad would still be guilty, even though they did all they could to prevent their dopey kid from drinking the beer.

What is going to happen to these dopey kids while their parents spend a year in the pokey? Foster homes, I suppose. Wards of the state. Yeah, THAT has to be better than their home life was.

    Puhleeze!

Same thing here in New Dork, wipers on and headlights have to be on. If a cop has had a bad day and you put your wipers on to clean the window without the lights on, he can ticket you. :Dou:
    Wipers on, lights on..........period.
Seat belts at all times or ticket, don't even think of having the cell phone in your hands or.........ticket.
Do you think it has anything to do with fines and revenue???? No, not at all!!

You can bet the ACLU ( All Communist Lawyers Union) won't be helping these folks. And I had to read this the first thing this morning. Now I have to put a lock on the pantry door thats where I keep the whiskey. My kids are all grown up and on their own but if some neighbor kid breaks in my house and drinks my booze it will be my fault. Man this is sick. Hope I don't lose the key. :af: :af: :af: :blast: :blast: :blast: Take care Bob Harris
