I also prefer the Stage 2 Scoop and do not care for mud flaps. But I do Like the solid color Red. Just when repainting remove the roof trim.

Well here it goes, loose the flaps & the keystone classics. Put the top back on. Did you cut a hole in the hood for the scoop? If so, then you need to make an air pan for the carb to get the most from the scoop. Otherwise you made a sunday hood. IT'S ALL HOLY!! get it? i'm here all week, please tip your waitresses. car looks good otherwise. just my opinion. jerry

I don't think mudflaps came with from the factory, but I'm sure dealers could/would install them. When I got my car 3+ yrs ago, it had mudflaps too. I didn't like them much, and they came off shortly thereafter. Also, they were "heartbeat of america" flaps... Anyway, my car doesn't see mud or gravel roads, so there's no point.

I have to say too, since you ask, the scoop doesn't look quite right to me, I think a Stage 2 scoop would look great though. I really wish I had an old pic of my brother's 68 GS400 from the early 70's. He had a 69 GS ram air hood on it, but it was basically destroyed when the hood latch failed at highway speeds. He replaced it with a Skylark hood but cut it and fabbed up a nice looking fiberglass scoop. Don't think I've seen one quite like it, so he may have designed it himself. It was maybe 18" wide, and 3"-4" high. All the corners were rounded off nicely. Looked like it could have come from the factory. He also modified the fuel system to run on gas or propane at the flip of a switch, when gas was so expensive. Mounted the tank in the trunk. I miss that car... :(

Maybe I am the only one... I like the scoop. It looks like a weekend warrior. Is it functional? I would definately make a pan for it to get all the air you can. I think some of you guys are too into stock style cars. The scoop and the Keystones are a good look-late 60s street driven bruiser. A nice lumpy cam and the smell of Cam2...a set of 4:56 gears and the radio blasting-another Saturday night on the Berlin Turnpike!!!

Mudflaps are a dealer installed item, even new cars with them listed as options have them installed as part of the pre-delivery inspection at the dealership.

I agree with most of the other guys... I liked the way it looked before with the black vinyl and no scoop.
