maybe they should get the CEO's of all the bail-out / Loan-out companies to have to play this game ... not sure I fully understand it or what they're saying but ...well... seems like good incentive to make your Co. profitable !!

It's only going to get to get worse...Does anyone remember the last State run automotive concern? I think it was called the Trabant, and there you had to wait 18 years to get the car, which when delivered never really ran, and then however long to get it fixed if the parts were available. And if you complained loud enough, some friendly Stasi officer would look into your complaint and recommend a relocation to some nice and warm place like Siberia.

There's no way that the Feds can run an auto industry. If you think the last 40 years was bad when they mandated 5 mile-per-hour bumpers, emmission controls, fuel economy, wait and see what they come up with if they're left holding the bag on GM; - some committee designed small car designed to get outrageous fuel economy, slammed together by underpaid federal employees transfered in from who knows where, designed to fit an insurance-company-standard-sized human being, and made from environmentally friendly materials that never degrade once land-filled. Parts and labour will run like the IRS, neither friendly or understanding, lots of paperwork to change a lightbulb, and parts availability next to nothing because someone forgot to think about that problem, or figured it shouldn't be a problem, because the bureacrat in charge of quality control at the factory has been lying about his figure for years and no one caught on.

    In other words, another Trabant.

Reserve yours today, beat the rush!

What I want to know is, how does Obama think he is qualified to run anything? The guy has zero business experience. When the politicians start playing engineer, God help us all!

Obama is a puppet, just like Bush was and others before. They do the bidding of the money people, not us-"we the people". More so in the past couple of decades. It's more 'in your face' now. With Obama and whoever, they seem to want the domestic carmakers go under for some reason, which of course will be seriously bad for our all ready destroyed economy. Wait until some big banks go down later. We will have borderline anarchy. Martial Law and the NAU and the Amero seem to be in our future. The United Nations people are winning.

Remember those days. Car dies on the road. Break out a paper book of matches and re-gap the points on the side of the road. Now today you would be lucky to even find matches:grin: Points? Condensers? Whats that?:pp

Alan that video is some sick sh%t! They should have that for the members of Congress and the Senate. People would actually pay to see that, and most likely get enough money to balance a budget or at least a GM Bailout.

As for the GM garbage, well it boils down to they sold their souls to the Govt. Now they are obligated to do what they say. Problem is the next axe will fall on the workers during contracts. And does anyone remember what President Regan & the Govt did to the Traffic Control guys when they struck? He fired them all being they were all Federal employees! Well now that the govt owns the lion share of GM & Chrysler, Obama and the Govt. can do the same if the unions object to govt demands and threaten to strike. The decision would be based on the fact the strike would hurt the economy, so the govt will fire the workers, maybe even jail the union officials for not complying and hire replacements, from the 8-9%+ of unemployed people. Right now unions and Obama are sort of in bed together so this sounds sort of far fetched, but things can change fast in politics. We've all seen it happen before.

Heard today on news that the govt will be telling GM & Chrysler to build small greener cars and dropping some of the truck lines and larger models, even though the trucks are still selling, also heard that the govt wants GM to drop the Volt just as it is being released this summer!!! They say its over priced and people won't buy it for what it gives you. Again I just heard this so I am not certain on the facts here yet. If this is true it goes back to selling their souls and now the govt can force feed the public on driving cars that the G-20 and the UN approves of.

Also heard Ford is now offering to pay your monthly car loan for 12 months if you lose your job. Now thats good incentive. At least they were smart not taking the bait.

You are sooooooo right. Hey being its all OUR tax money...(well maybe what's left that the Chinese don't have) why can't WE THE PEOPLE march on the White House and demand that those jackasses in Congress & the Senate (All of them as it is not a party issue here) be fired or better yet violate the Constitution (just like they do) and take THEIR bonuses and free healthcare away for the lousy job they have been doing.

Now that is CHANGE I am for

I agree. It's like selling your soul to the devil. As long as the government is involved in GM, I won't buy another one. Ford is looking better all the time.

Be careful if you plan on buying a new pre bankructy GM or Chrysler. It has been said that if their something faulty with these cars (resulting in death or injury)that either old GM or old Chrysler is NOT liable at all.

    Buyer beware

Well he got to be president with a community organizer background. And oh aren't the inner city communities of Chicago a fun safe place to take your family for vacation now!

As for a figure head with someone else controlling it. If you look at Obama's past from his church to his terrorist friends to his socialist promises, I would say that if someone is in control of him they've been molding him for 20 years. He is turning out to be everything that I would have expected from him except he's able to get more "Change" than I thought he ever could have. I underestimated the power of the socialist saying "go ahead and take it, it won't cost you anything".

He's getting away with it because nobody in congress is stopping him. Nobody in the justice department is stopping him. Nobody is telling him "you can't do that Mr. President, it is outside of your executive powers". Firing a PRIVATE CEO??? How is that anywhere within his executive powers? Somebody NEEDS to step up and tell him "NO! You can't do that!"

You are 100 percent right, but the sheep still think they are going to be getting free stuff so no one is complaining. If no one complains then no one is afraid of being voted out of office for not standing up.
Sad part is that there isn't even an opposition party any more.

Hehe, ain't that the truth. I will NOT buy another new GM vehicle until they are gov free. So when it's time to buy a new truck, It'll have a blue oval on it.
Mike Garrison had posted a picture of a bumper sticker on another forum that I thought was priceless...

"No American taxpayers were harmed during the production of this vehicle" :TU:

Oh I don't know about all that. The government is a model of efficiency. I'm reminded of that everytime I do my taxes, and when I go to get my vehicles registered or my drivers license renewed.

God I threw up in my mouth a little bit even typing that.
