I'm kind of a weirdo when it comes to my cars' key chains and keys. After I get a car I'll spend days of free time looking for just the right key chain, and I'm all about having the factory correct keys as well. I really favor the classic leather key fob, and have found a few places where you can get pretty much anything your heart desires. I also try to keep all my old ones, especially to cars that meant something. Here's my currents and a couple of my past rides.... Anyway, probably not going to be a real popular thread, but what do you guys use for your classic car's chain and keys? I'm sure a lot of us don't just use the regular old ring with 47 keys like a janitor in an 80s movie....
This is the only one I have. It was my moms when she drove her 72 Skylark Convertible. She gave it to me when I turned 16. I still have the keys but unfortunately the car is long gone.
I actually have the original plastic keychain from Lindeman Buick with the original keys still on it when my green car was purchased new. I'll grab a pic when I get out there. I also have a later year NOS Lindeman keychain from before they closed.
Don't have a Buick right now, but my son's car we have had for 25 years, original keys, all paperwork sold new in our town. No key chain we don't use the original keys.
I found this on e-bay one day by accident as I was looking for the history of my dealer-- I believe this was where my car was sold (build sheet is chopped up so only part of the address but it lists 107 st and Alta (old abbreviation for Alberta). I don't think any other city in Alberta had 107 sts in 1968!
Great, clever thread man I've spent it seems like countless hours choosing just the right keychains for our cars. Smallest details seem to start some enjoyable threads! Please start a 'what's in the ashtray?' thread next-I keep era specific matchbooks, coins in ours-you guys/gals?
What dealership is the Skylark one from, Layne? Can't read it on my phone and you know I'm not going to be around a computer for at least a week hahahahaha.....
Had a door emblem with a broken stud, drill a hole and grind off the other stud and it’s now my keychain.
I made this in my art class senior year of high school. It's managed to survive over a half dozen Gran Sports. I'd still like to find one from either of the dealerships it was at when new.
Not a buick related tag but still pretty cool to me. I got two matching medallions, one on each interior door panel on the Riv and coincidentally they match my rims The trunk and ignition keys are original but I think the door lock key is a remake of the original?
