I have a 65 Riv GS that, unfortunately had its dual quad set scavenged at some point before I bought it. I need one to put back on! Thanks
Have you checked e-bay? I thought I read something earlier today about an NOS dual quad set up for a nailhead, but can't recall which one. Probably a bit pricey though.
Saw the following on recycler.com, under car parts and then buick. 1963 thru 1975 Buick parts,auto trans,radiator,4 speed,engine parts,drive shafts,emblems,fender,hood,starter, dual 4 barrels,etc.chrome rims v2's$10 and up. jim wilson 818-640-8925 stratred13@charter.net
haha... "evilbay" that's a good one. Fairly accurate most of the time too. I already saw that one, but $2900? It looks to need all reconditioned and it's missing the linkages. I'm keeping my eye on it. Thanks
what state are you located in. i know where there is a complete rotted car that someone wants to get rid of but hasnt taken the time to dig it out yet. complete but has been sitting behind a barn for years. its in northern ohio.
ill see what i can find out. ive never seen the car in person, but i know the guy who owns it pretty well. hes a corvair guy has no use for the riv. he has told me the car is complete, but has been sitting for a long time and would only sell it as a whole.
The one on ebay needs more than linkages. Choke cover, fuel lines, Topcat makes them, 2x4 kickdown bracket, very rare part, and the reconditioning. An intake only is over $500 now with about an hour to go. Larry
Don't worry to much about the 2X4 kickdown bracket. We have a very connected and talented person hear on the East coast making a small run of reproduction ones. Should be ready by ?? Spring o No: ?? If you can wait that long maybe there will be one with your name on it:beer Oh and Welcome to the wonderful world of Nailheads. You Riv looks :bglasses: great, let's see some more.
Doug- Thanks for the info, many of the sets I find seem to be missing the kick down bracket. Larry- As far as pricing... Ebay is probably not the best guage. If somebody wants to pay $500 for a bare intake, let 'em. I would REALLY like to use a stock set up on my car, but I'm not going to pay $3k for it. If it comes to that, I'll just get the Eelco intake and some new carbs. It's gonna be a resto-mod anyway. If it wasn't a true GS, I would have already ordered the aftermarket 2x4 set up. Thanks for all the help, guys! Thad
I've been following up on any leads that I get and I appreciate them. Any new leads for me? V8RegalOwner do you have any info on the parts car? Thanks, Thad
