Looks nicely done, don’t know what it’s here for.
Always liked the “square” bodied Skylarks, especially the 65’s full width tail lights!

I know. That tail panel is just begging for sequential signals.

Nah,Had it 26years now I enjoy driving the wheels off it to much and not having to worry about chips/ scratches and all that malarkey.

Give it back with a 455.

    Maybe that's why it's there.

I think that 1965 was the best year for great looking cars from GM. If you're into Chevy's, the 65 Impala is the best looking year.

I guess an older gentleman owns it, Nate (20 year old kid) said it runs smooth.
I told him “The LS is a nice engine, but this is a Buick and needs a Buick engine”
    He probably didn’t understand.
All he saw was this when the hood is opened

Well... I prefer the originals but I'm sure the guys before us were just as BS in 1975-1985 when everyone put Chevy 350s and 327s in every 40s and 50s car that they grew up with.... (Especially, the flathead Ford guys... )

That actually looks really well done under the hood though. Looks nicer than the usual yawn inducing chromed out 350 or 327.

IMG_1899.jpeg Never saw inside the trunks of this era Skylark, it’s HUGE for a “midsize”

The engine bay look really good, great install, however I would have removed the corvette off the engine trim

As much as I dislike the thought of these LS swaps, I can surely understand it. The Buick world is a relatively small one and it's a fact that building a Buick engine is a "project", not just an R&R. The wait time, or product availability on critical components is frustrating to say the least. It's understandable though, with the overall size of our "small" market. I used to HATE seeing this sort of swap, but I'm softening on it a bit and realizing that for some people, it's the only route that they can take to keep their old Buick on the road...... where it should be. I'd drive the heck out of it!!!

It is pretty decent, looks to be an older paint job as the clear has a satin sheen to it, but the color (metallics) are even, no mottling, who ever did it did a good job.
But yes, the LS would go straight to Butt Face Marketplace.
In its place id put a nice hi compression 231 4 bbl V6
Always wanted to revisit the carbed V6:D

    Yep, same feeling here.
A lot of old car enthusiasts just want the looks/styling of an older car, and don’t care what powers it.
I like the whole package myself, if it’s a Chevy, keep it Chevy, Pontiac, Olds, or Buick.
I wonder if that was a 65 Malibu/Chevelle if they would have dropped an LS in also and abandoned the traditional SBCo_O

Check the trunk seal up in the corners by the back window they are usually completely flattened out.
GM A-bodys are notorious for the back glass leaking.
There's where it starts when the lower quarters and trunk pan rots out.

I've read elsewhere that the trunk seal should never be installed like it is on that car where the ends meet dead center. That's open season for water to enter the trunk. The ends should meet halfway between either side and center. I will defer to other more knowledgeable folks though.
