SAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball:
Actually he had 4 runs. Off the top of my head the first was a 15.03 at 90mph or something close. The secondaries were stuck so that was a 2 bbl run. The second was a 14.38 @ mid 90's after which he changed secondary metering rods and hanger. The third was a 14.23 @ mid 90's and the last was 14.19. Great way to end the day!! Maybe Kevin with chime in and post more acurate times and MPH, or maybe just put the whole slip up. It was quite impressive. He was quite happy with everything! Its great to hear that he made it home!! BTW...I have been seriously considering buying that serpentene belt system that I've heard about. I always have problems with my Alt belts, especially with my Regal V6. I think this system may come in handy whenever (if ever) I get my 455 in the Skylark. I think its sold over the internet, but I don't know where. Anyone know??
I've got quite a bit of video of the swap, although I left before Kevin made any passes. Hopefully, someone else shot video of him on the track. I think Larry took some digital pics of the toasted motor.
That is sad about the purple GN-Xtreme car:ball: Such a beautiful buick, thankgod the driver is alrightou:
Hey.........Wolverine is back!!!!! Good to see your back in Mass with the GS 350...er......GS 455!!!!!!! Thanks for letting me canabalize the old 350. Till next time:beer :beer :beer :beer :beer
Real shame too. This was an original #'s matching 70 GS350 motor. The SP 350, 315 HP, and 410 lb. ft. of Buick torque.
LIFE IS GOOD!! Wolverine..............I've got a good idea of what those burnouts are going to feel like!! Here's a pic of my 70 Electra, the SF block's original home. ENJOY!! :TU: :3gears:
Kevin, I did remember those numbers. It was one of the most exciting moments of the weekend seeing you drag race for your first time. You were a natural at it. Your reaction time got better and better each time your e.t. got better. I think your reaction time for the last race was .676 or so. Not bad for your fourth race ever. Now you need to head to the strip every weekend to see if you can cut a .500 light.
I was over at Don Eggers' place this evening to look at some video he shot. He got all the runs but the 14.19 run. He was so nervous during it he was shaking. He was so afraid that the motor he sold would fail. He's quite relieved now since I told him that Kevin made it back home.
WE MADE IT! Not only did the Massholes make it home safely, but they were acting up right away. Good ole Wolverine took me out for a ride in the "new" 455 car. Looks like someone is enjoying his new BBB! These pics are for everyone who helped us out this weekend.
sounds like a good guy. i hate it when i hear of chevy boys selling stuff and it failing and the guy has the nerve to say "you should've rebuilt it" or some thing like that... argh... again you guys amaze me
Re: WE MADE IT! RIGHT ON!!!! THAT IS HOW YOU DRIVE A BBB! go show THAT to those ding dongs who did the muscle car shootout and couldn't smoke some rubber if their lives depended on it!
Gee...now I'll have to lay waste to the Holiday Inn parking lot, too. Maybe I'll bring my 70 GS 350 next year and do a motor swap...nah, not yet. I will bring the 71 Skylark though. Surely, I'll have my 455 in it by then.
