We hooked a temporary 2 megawatt generator with cabling 2" in diameter we pulled to the third floor so we could at least run one chiller should Dorian hit. This way I can keep radiology (all the scan equipment cooled) and the OR's in AC. I was one whooped puppy! Generator weighs 87,000 lbs. Fired up one chiller, 2000 tons of cooling, to load test the gen, 330 amps at 4160 volts equals 1,373,000 watts. The cabling jumped when I started it due to inrush current. I have three of those chillers in my side and ten more in the adjacent building along with three steam generators at 80K, 100K and 120K lbs of steam and hour. The power plant next door is twice the size of my building. 1st pic is our power vault, 2nd pic is our power plant, 3rd pic is our substation and 4th pic is how hot it gets in the summer on our 3rd floor mezzanine where we pulled those cables too. I am 33. Joined the board in 2011, bought my 1969 GS when i was 25. This is probably my first post here, been lurking in the shadows for 8 years, reading and learning every day, an increadible amount of knowledge tied to this site.
I didn't think anyone here was under 40 until this thread came along I haven't been under 40 for 25 years now, turning 65 in a month from now. I already have my medicare card. My kids grew up with Pokémon but I never paid any attention to it. My high school car was `64 Galaxie XL that was only 6-8 years old when I had it, then traded it in when I graduated in `72 for a `67 GTO with 50,000 miles onit. My dad used to take us around to the dealerships when the new cars were released, which was a big deal back then. Now, not so much. I remember when the musclecars first made their appearance, though I don't recall them being referred to as musclecars back then. I remember seeing my first new `67 Camaro and my first `69 Boss 429 in showrooms. And that first Marina Blue `66 Chevelle SS396. I was in love with that car. Still am. And I had one but I let it get away I guess I should be feeling old right now but I'm glad I grew up in the era that I did and wouldn't trade it if even if I could. Lotta great memories.
Bought my 1st new Buick (RIVIERA ) in 1965 at age 23 , you do the math !!! I don't think I'm under 40 ???? Bill Bill
I'm 37 and for many years I'm often the youngest guy in the crowd I hang out with at car shows. Feel like I think like a 50-60 year old. I know more about colonoscopies than any 37 year old should know.
I feel yer pain.......I have been trying to get up to 455 (obvious Buick reasons) but my skin just won’t allow it!
I'll be 66 in a few weeks but always contend my parents lied to me about my birth date... In Buick ownership years I'm two and a half!
