I'm sure I saw this car run at W.I.R. in Wi. in the early to mid 90's....on alcohol.

Picture was taken at the 84 nats. I thought it may have been one of the Paine's car's ?

I go all the way back to '87 as far as Buick events go, and I only remember that car at the GS Nats around '88-'89 like Gary said and I remember it being alcohol injected, like Guy said. I don't remember it at any NE events, like Buick Day at E-Town.

I guess I win the doggy prize. That was George Mueller's 1969 GS. Doug you were correct (for once:moonu: ) He ran gasoline and came back to run alcohol, but didn't have much luck. This was back in 1987-89 he did also own a street car '69 GS that he came back to the GS Nats with. I believe but I may be wrong, that he was from the Wisconsin area. Real nice guy.

Here is another shot of George's Buick in the near lane. This shot was taken at the GS Nationals around 1988.

Rick is correct, that is Georges car. It is sitting in my yard at this very moment, up on jack stands. I built a fresh mild motor for him last year, and he finally got around to putting it in this summer. Now it's my job to do some re-wiring and get it started and broken in.
This car has been sitting for at least five years. Needs TLC!! He just wants to get it running and maybe bring it to BG next year.
This car has a lot of nostalgia associated with it, and a cool history. It was built in 1984 and was brought to the 85, (or maybe 86) nats for the first time. It was one of the first pro street Buicks to show up at the nats. It ran fairly high compression back then, and it was LOUD!! I can remember riding around the hotel parking lots in the evenings, and setting off all of the GN's alarms. It was hilarious!!
The car would always 60' great, low 1.30's, but it would always fall a little flat on the big end. Ran 11.20's at best. Not bad for a street car back in the 80's! especially when you consider that the car weighed just over 4000 lbs.
I help build a lot of things on this car over the years. Widened rally rims, EVM fuel injection, (back then I worked for EVM and ran the fuel injection dept.), engine work, trans parts. etc, etc,.
This car brings back a lot of memories for all of us old timers. (I haven't missed a GS nats since 1984) Hope this bit of info helps clear up the mystery. Steve

I remember this car at WIR also. I looked it over a few times but never talked to the person who owned it I can see where it is a heavy car the way the rear frame was done. Tom
