Get a new pickup tube. 12 bucks at autozone . melling part 5/8 tube with bolts and gaskets. I drill passage out in block to 1/2 .eases strain on pump and front cam bearing.

Yeah I'm kind of looking for someone local so I can pic this stuff up, shipping will kill me. I could be interested in that distributor though. how hard is it going to be to find a crankshaft? probably hard huh?

If $70 for fuel is too much then I am guessing that you are not planning to properly build the engine? You might be better off finding a good running 350 in your area. I normally pay $100-$200 max for a good running 350...
Here in Chicago they think classic car parts are gold. A running 350 can be 500-2000 depending on if part "dealer" or not
its really the 10 hour drive that's killing me, not the 70 bucks and I don't know if I just my Honda for that long of a drive.
Yeah, 10 hours is a long time... Maybe just pay the shipping from johnny to you as it shouldn't be too bad as its not too far.
i have probably all except the manifold . PM me if no luck with anyone . i go that way sometimes on relative trips , about 3 hrs from ya maybe . i drove down that way for some pistons awhile back . #81 up to scranton and binghamton then up #88 to me .

Del, yeah those rods you wanted were not the ones in the block sorry Del. I am interested in the distributor and manifolds, do you have a coil as well?
i have a "new" reman with HD points , HD cap n rotor ( may still show up on here for sale ) . or probably have an ok old dist ( $10+ ? ). have an old HEI maybe too ( $30+ ) . would want to check on those two first . no 2bbl manifold , probably tossed it/recycled it . i probably have an old coil ( $0+ ) but would recommend a new one . those are not too much i'm sure . i do have a new in box accel super coil for sale . new shiney and bright yellow ( also on here for sale somewhere ) . also have an extra mallory #29440 coil i bought for a spare . but - i don't really need two spares i guess . you will wanna check the info on those last two to be sure they will work for your combo , should . may need a ballast if using points and if HEI may need the coil/cap conversion stuff . and neither will mount right up OEM style . edit : the one ad i found n bumped it up . the other ( with the reman dist ) musta been older , gone off the grid i guess . but you get the idea .
