The Hellcat has impressive stats but the whole retro thing has gotten boring for me. I've moved on.

Now if that Buick has the credentials of a CTS-V I would be more than happy to spend some retirement money on her.

Id take a 2015 Chevrolet Stingray ZO6 any day over that shuttle craft.
I thought I have seen on YOUTUBE the ZO6 drag racing the Hellcat and
spanking it...more that once. And...like anybody who would buy one
would actually put anybody in the back seats.
    The yellow ZO6 is beautiful.

    Just my opinion...

The guy that made that video is as pompous an a**clown as they come. Just another jackwagon with more money than brains and thinks he has "car guy cred" cause he had a wallet big enough to buy the flavor of the month on car mag land. I guarantee he'd get spanked in his precious hellcat buy a guy with a slightly warmed GN that actually knew what he was doing.

Guy is another example of "you can't buy brains" , but money can buy arrogance. And ignorance is free.

I can't imagine that happening - that's way too much power for most people, let alone officers responding to *anything* that requires lights/sirens and isn't on a straight road. If nothing else, they would have to become "Hellcat Qualified." You could pretty much expect that the used Charger police car would have had multiple body panels replaced, possible frame damage, and pee stains on the driver's seat...

As much as I like the idea (and price) of a Hellcat, I think the Scat Pack is a more reasonable ride that I could enjoy driving and take to the track once in a while.

Now all this being said, if Chris (cjp69) were to buy a Charger version, I'd want to be the guy who bought it from him... after the first time getting on it, he'd be in valet mode from that point forward. And I know I wouldn't have to worry about him drag racing it all the time. And it would be as shiny as the day it was new.

A friend has one. The Hellcat and the 13-14 "Trinity" GT500 have more grunt than even very wide Michelin MPSS summer tires can harness.Traction with factory tires on these vehicles is ridiculous and unsafe. You can break traction with the throttle close to the 100 mph mark. In order to compensate many owners have gone to 305-315 series Nitto drag radials.

If you want stoplight to stoplight wins from a dig go with a GTR. Depending on the model its all wheel drive is taking it to 0-60 mph times of 2.7 to 2.9 seconds.

The next frontier may be a new Vette with a mid-engine layout.

Just a thought but any one remember the reason for the death of the muscle car in the 70's? Insurance rates caused by bad drivers buying a hemi or LS 6 or GS stage 1 and crashing them. I had a friend in school who's dad bought a 66 chevy nova with the 375 horse 327 and it had 5 inch tires on it. No traction at all. a 428 CJ Mach one with 14X6" ? a Stage 1 14" There is nothing new in this. I saw a vid of a guy that bought a new Ferrari and let his kid drive it home.... totaled! There are way more high performance cars out there than drivers. Most of the people my age and older know someone that over estimated their ability and lost theor lives in a fast car. Is the hellcat over powered yes. Is the GT500 yeah but I still want one of each and add in a new Z06 and a Ford GT. Too much is never enough:)

Oh it might be fast and all, the look just does nothing for me. Just my personal preference.

Edit: Plus it's got the wrong amount of doors.

I have owned a Zo6 (427). Based on a lot personal experience, it is not nearly as wild as the 13-14 Trinity GT 500. You will swear this car is out to kill you. A Trinity has has a better power to weight ratio than even a Hellcat.

Having said that I would love to own a Hellcat. The paddle shifting trans is the stuff.

One observation from most Hellcat owners is the paint is generally very bad-- meaning a lot of flaws and a lot of trash in it. As demand goes away Dodge will not be able to get away with this. Right now, if you do not want it because of paint issues, they give these to the next customer on the list.

I have a friend that ordered one. Black inside and out with the manual transmission. It should be here in a couple of weeks. He has the first year RT, Audi A6, Benz SL500, Range Rover and this fall he bought a 87 GN. The news is when I told him I can wait for a ride he said hell you can drive it:pray::TU:

I guess that's up to you, but it means that you get cars that can go that you keep in a condition that they're always ready to show. :bla:

Driving a car like that on the street is a handful. My CTS-V is close to 600hp and I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on it which are the best summer tires around and you still have to be careful. It was a train wreck waiting to happen on stock type tires.
