I have to admit they are very impressive for a heavy car, Dodge finally did something right Big inch engine with a blower and an automatic. I would have to believe that the average Hellcat runs 11:30 to 11:50 @ a 125 mph in decent air. You can do the same thing to a New Mustang. i purchased a 2012 Mustang Gt with and automatic and 3:15 gears. I put a 2.3 Roush TVS blower on it and the car ran 10:80's @ 130 MPH all stock except for the addition of the blower.

A friend of mine did about the same. He purchased everything, including some cosmetic items, that would be standard on a Roush Stang. Runs high 10s as well. Cruises all the way home from the track with A/C and tunes on. Modern technology.

But he also just voided his factory warranty unless he is friendly with the local dealer.

Not sure how things work over in Dearborn, but if someone bought a new Camaro they can order any part from the GM performance catalog and not void the warranty, just as long as the dealer installs it. I would assume that Ford has a similar program.

I did hear the hellcats are bursting into flames at an alarming rate..

I have a customer who builds high end muscle cars. His next build is a 68/69 charger that will have the hellcat powertrain. Chrsyler told him he couldn't even order the motor until the end of may, and that it would likely be 6 months before he took delivery.

Friend of mine who is a car enthusiast and owns about a dozen plus cars from the 50's on up (including a 72 Stage 1) just bought one, and I asked him to compare it to his other "fast" modern cars. (He also has a Porsche Panamera Turbo)

    Its fn bananas!!!

Fast understatement. Scary fast with an ax murderer attitude. What I mean is that when you gas it with bad intentions, its fast enough to make you back down before it does. So, how does it compare to my E55 AMG, my Ferrari (2004 Challenge Stradale), and my Stage 3 Porsche (84 wide body modified by Protomotive)?

E55 One of the fastest, coolest cars that is crazy inexpensive these days. Very torquey and supercharged with grunt that amazes and embarrasses many sports and supercars. Hellcat is similar in its purpose a road car that can be enjoyed heavy, nice rumble, comfortable with lots of power and break neck speed to spare. However, E55 is not in the same world as the hellcat when it comes to brute force acceleration. Think Beast mode vs a typical running back.

Ferrari Track car with emotion to match. High revving hot blooded Italian with a sound to match. A true track car that is street legal that would prance around the track around the mighty Hellcat. Once on the street or on the freeway, the Hellcat would embarrass it so badly - think Mike Tyson vs. Floyd Mayweather.

My Porsche for reminders it too was about 700 HP. To really different cars. Only thing in common is the underrated horsepower ratings. The Porsche would anniliate the HC on the track. Would probably be able to hang with it on the street. However, hellcat is far more comfortable and well-mannered. Think energy drinks Guzzling redbulls vs sipping expresso. Ultimately the same effect, ones just appears to me more cultured than the other.

There you have it. The HC is the ultimate street beast!

I have 4 Buicks 2 87 GN's TT's 70 stage non#'s matching and a 67 GS 340 with a 400 in it my every day driver is a 2013 SRT/8 jeep and if they come out with the Hell Cat jeep I will have one. You can say the best of both worlds my best 0-60 to date is 4.5 with wheel spin. For a 5100 lb vehicle that's hauling don't you think ?

YES YES YES!!! One of the fastest armored vehciles till they came up with the M-1 Abrams!

I drove a Dodge Truck for 10 years, and have always had a thing for some of MOPAR's stuff but I think they need to trim down the proportions of the Challenger a bit, just looks too stocky, I actually prefer the latest incarnation of the Charger myself even if it has 4-doors.

I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd use it instead of start a new one. Spotted a white Hellcat Challenger at the local dealership on my way into work. Figured I'd see if it was for sale on the lot or if it was just waiting for it's "forever home." As much as I like the Hellcat, the Scat Pack has seemed to me like more of a reasonable vehicle at a similar budget price. Turns out they have a few, and the "stripper" version of it is pretty cheap.

Our Nephew, and niece, came over with their new Challenger R/T (no Scat Pack). Cranberry red with black graphics and loaded. I got to drive it. Very comfortable and the heated/cooled seats are killer. He told me I could "step on it". Don't think he was thinking about who he was talking to. 105 and so smooth. You definitely need the passenger outside mirror.

I had a test drive in a neighbors friends Tesla P90D
4 door space ship that gets 270 miles on a charge...never have experienced anything like
It. It rearranged the atoms in my body!!! It makes you forget about anything with an internal combustion engine. It makes my 70 GSX Stage 1 seem like a covered wagon. See all the youtube videos of Tesla vs Hellcat...the race is over in 2 seconds. For street fun the Hellcat doesn't stand a chance...that is unless you're going for long distance which should never be done on the street. A good friend of mine just bought a 2016 Hellcat Challenger (Plum Crazy) and he agrees.
And to add insult to injury...Tesla now has out the P100D that spanks the P90D...eeyaaoooo!!

My friend bought a Hellcat. Says it's hell on gas. I personally would have a real problem forking my money over for a gas guzzler tax.

The real value out there right now looks to be a 2009-2011 R/T or even SRT with a 6 speed Tremec, clean title, good to new tires, 50 to 90k miles, and an under 20k price tag. There are 7 of those to pick from just on C.L. within a 5 hour drive of me. Tasty.
