    Bruce three more questions.

    What is you idle speed?
How much vaccuum are you pulling at idle?
Are you running a vaccuum can?

And please update us when you change gears.

    Thank You,
    Bart

VERY impressive times. The 10.14 through the exhaust is just as impressive as the 9's.

Makes me want to sell one of my other cars, build a motor and put in a roll CAGE. :3gears:

It idles at 900 in gear 1100 out.....could idle lower. It's all in the carb tweaking. About 6 in vac last time I checked. No vacuum can.....manual disk brakes.

No pinned mains.....they might be on a stroll.... :Brow:

    Bruce,
How many grams are your pistons? They must be pretty light, as I am sure you know heavy pistons + rpm kills stock rods. Did you press the pistons onto the stock rods or float them?

I'm not sure whatever the TA JE 12-1 pistons are. I believe they are fully floating with retaining clips. They do have the lightweight pins.
I wonder what HP the lightweight pins are good to?

    Bruce,
I was wondering if your rods were floated to except floating pins, or did you press the pins into the rods. I dont think there is enough meat on the stock rod to bush them. I'm guessing you did not use the clips and just pressed them in.

Congrats on the 9's!!!! Way cool.

We also have a hyd cam that has the stock lift .392/.408 in our 350.

    Best of 11.45 @114+ carrying 3500#.

Happy New Year and safe trips all!

Issac, that is equally cool. 11s with a 350 and lift .392/.408!

Good luck in the coming season. Any changes? Or new car?

We are changing the paint. Freshening the engine with a little more tweeking. May try a different tranny??? Currently a T350. May try getting a little closer to those actual numbers with the cam. It has been coming up a little short during inspection. .378/.396.. We know it's not the TA Performance 3/8" adjustable push rods flexing nor the TA solid rocker shaft.

Perhaps changing from stock drum brakes to aftermarket disc. New M/T wheels also.

And the driver is now engaged!!!

Engaged? That'll slow him at least .10.
    Or cause more redlights. :Brow:

Ok now I have a question. I noticed tht Tom Rix and BQUICK both run in the 9s but have a 200cfm difference in their carb outputs. How is that so and is their a formula to determine the amount of cfm needed for a certain performance output.

    Mike,

I dont think there is a Buick engine out there that will not make more HP when you bolt a dominator on it. That being said you can also have two seperate cars with the exact same engine and the exact same weight with one of the cars being .20 to .30 faster. It all depends on which car has the lighter rotating components. Such as rear tires, rear rims, drums, axles, spool, ring and pinion, yolk, drive shaft and all through the trans.

    Hope this helps.
