Sorry to upset you Annie :) But I honestly think you will make yourself Crazy like that :Do No: If your convinced that you are doing something wrong, how about asking a good girlfriend. Ask them to be brutally honest with you.

I have a sister(married now) that is beautiful, and she used to ask me "what's wrong with me" The truth was, there was nothing wrong at all. She dated a successive line of LOSERS until she met a great guy.

    No offense taken...

Larry, no offense taken and you didn't upset me. This whole dating/relationship thing is like having a Rubik's Cube but not having the manual - I can solve one or two sides and then I'm stuck!! A very perplexing puzzle.

Believe me, this is a common topic among conversations with my girlfriends, one of whom is a certified MSW (social worker/counselor), most of them married, a few single, and some that I've known my whole life. I'd say I've got a pretty good sounding board! But I like to get the male perspective, too - ya know that old adage - "know your customer"!

I will agree it's a game of numbers - gotta pick through a lot of junk to find the junkyard jewel. Until my accident, I did settle for clunkers. But the bar has been raised, exponentially!! I will no longer settle for anything less than what I deserve (and let me tell you - I deserve a LOT :TU: )

Okay, here is my reply to ALL of Annie's posts! Oh boy, got me started on the MAN thing again!!! I agree with everything she says. Thank you for saying it so I can rant about what erks me! :eek2: Okay, here goes....

I think I'm pretty special, got A LOT of great things going for me and would be a GREAT catch for that SPECIAL guy. No, I'm not conceited, I just know what other kind of women are out there! I am VERY PARTICULAR in who I want to go out with. It is just VERY HARD to find a true Buick guy, without kids, got a decent job (preferably a long term job and at least a small savings acct. for your car stuff), got a life, wants to treat me like a queen (no, not buy me lots of diamonds and chrome parts), just be kind and loving so I can treat him the same (and I promise not to let your guy friends know how wonderful you can be to your queen  ), blah, blah, blah, be TRUTHFUL - that means no lies, have hair, and be nice looking.

Basically, I don't expect anymore from a man than what I am willing and able to give, and want someone that is a true and honest person.

About not telling someone the truth that someone is not the kind of person they want to date... You may like someone as a person, they might be great, but they might not be what you/they want in a romantic relationship. I think THAT is about the easiest way to put it when you have gone out with a great person, just not someone that you feel romantically attracted to. There will always be some hurt there, but it would be worse if they didn't even like you as a person and then told you about it. :af:

I have really had it with trying to find someone that I would like to spend lots of time with. Found one that I had most everything in common with, but too, too much baggage and too many issues.

WHERE ARE THE GREAT GUYS!!!???!!!??? :Do No:

Sorry to get off on this tangent again guys, but I have made my New Year's resolution and I'm sticking by it! :3gears:

Larry is in NEW YORK!!! :eek2:

Guess I better add that I really prefer someone in Texas! I was born and raised here. If I even go outside of the State lines, I feel like I've entered a different country! I ain't moving' nowhere!

Remember what Annie said....but we live too far from one another and our jobs are too far apart, we aren't a good match". :Smarty:

    Alan,
I already tried the long distance relationship(Kentucky). Didn't work, you just can't see each other often enough to make it work. Been there, done that.

  7. I had a few, and I should have a few more coming up soon! Of course, I haven't started a car project yet...

If there isn't love, honesty, and trust then I feel a relationship has no legs to stand on. The hardest part for me isn't finding an attractive woman, but finding one that doesn't b.s and have any psychological issues. I guess I'm too independent with being out on the road and knowing I don't really need someone to complete my life, I'm perfectly happy as I am. When I can find an honest, attractive, and sweet girl I'll marry her, but until then I'll let fate play it's part.

Same here. Just want an honest, attractive, and sweet guy...not girl!

I didn't have ANY psychological issues until the last year and a half!!!!! :af:

That's cool Dee. The problem is I usually tell the girls how it is and I don't sugarcoat it. Somehow, they know the truth hurts and I feel they're somewhat in denial. There's no way I'm going to go into a relationship based on lies. So, I figure I might as well be upfront and honest instead of allowing my feelings to get more involved and hurt later down the road.

Yep, I'd rather know where I stand than have to keep guessing or asking. the mystery and intrigue can be great, but don't BS because that's no fun. Being upfront and truthful is the best way to go! :TU:

    problem solved

Annie / Whomever, why don't you screen the potential suitors through V8Buick? Just post a detailed profile and our crack team of character judges will critique them. Be sure to include critical info such as what vehicles they currently own and have owned in the past 5 years. :Smarty:

Hey Rick, Oakley is about 40 minutes from Flint, 30 if you're driving a Buick! :Brow:

Out here in the middle of the STYX, Oakley is well known for our Annual Old Gas Tractor Show & Beer Tent (I believe the biggest Gas Tractor Show & Pull in the state), an annual Motorcyle Poker Run, one of the largest in Michigan - which has become a Bike Weekend now, 2 bars within stumbling distance from one another, a gas station, a huge grain elevator and corn processing plant, one small restaurant - and we now have one of them there fancy flashy yellow lights. It's hanging between the 2 bars - so y'all will slow down when we rednecks are stumbling from on to the other.

Pretty much, we got beer, bikes, tractors and a part time rent-a-cop. :beer

    A great place to live!

    Great Idea!!

Great idea! A whole forum similar to the "EBay Cars & Parts"!! Call it something like "Potential Dates & V8Buick Spouses". Or, "Is this guy/gal worthy to ride in my Buick?"

Problem is, just like cars, some look good in pictures and on paper. But until you see them in person, kick the tires, look under the hood and take them for a test drive - you just never know!! :pp

I do agree, though, that their "Current & Former Vehicles Owned" resume is an essential bit of knowledge! I, personally also like to know their preferences in tractors, handguns, and motorcycles - but that's due to my own redneck-ed-ness.

    This could be interesting?

At least we would know who the 'available' Buick guys are, I'm not much into finding boys/guys online. Did that once and the guy wanted me to help him rebuild a Chebbie engine for his Camaro, cause he was injured at work, come to think of it, I'm not sure he wanted me to help, I suspect he wanted me to do it for him! That's almost the perfect date!

want to know what's worse than someone that has no interest in cars/motorcycles/guns? someone that pretends to, and asks really bad questions or makes worse comments about what they/their relative/friend has/had.

    Single ladies on V8Buick:

    Annie
    Dee
    Patty
    Roberta
    :(

    Single men:

    My estimate is somewhere around 30% x 7000 = 2100

    Happy hunting ladies. :blast:

My plan is to kidnap a nun, convert her out of the catholic church, and marry her.

I feel alot of women want to play the reality version of "As the world turns" and I don't want to play the leading role. Someday someone will come along for me.

That is exactly what most of us girls want, many of my 'girl friends' don't want to play games, yeah there is the game playing out there, but you guys got to find ways to figure out which ones are which, just like us girls got to figure out, which ones are real winners, and lovers, and which ones are 'MONEY PITS' Looking for a ride on the girls money, expertise, great job, etc. FORGET IT, don't even think about it, us Girls, are now an independent entity, that can make some major $$ and stand on our own with out a husband or signifigant other. But, the back rubbing, and massages got to be included in the deal, ya know, this is important info for the guys, and means more than anything to the girls, but we never tell you dudes, how much a back rub or massage makes us so much better, bitch alot less! DUH!
