I stole this picture I got from a different post (about installing a temperature sending unit) but the picture shows the black micro-switch mounted on the back for the throttle linkage pretty good. Do you have that one?
I do not have the black microswitch. Where's a good place to find those? I understand now how the bracket mounts from the drawings. What does the dashpot do? Thanks guys.
Bummer... check Wheat Belt Buick, Rancho Riviera, or perhaps Carmen can hook you up with a used one. I haven't heard of any repops or new old stock. I believe the purpose of that switch forces the torqe converter into high stall at "no throttle" so its not pulling or lugging at a stoplight. You probably don't really need that switch. Some guys will just add a toggle switch inside the car so you can also manually activate it, or you can put it on a timer for at the drag strip so it is timed to drop into low stall a bit before the 60 foot mark. The number I had gotten for Carmen from a previous thread was a fax number. Do you have the correct Tel number? I really would like this function, so I will have to get one. The brake light jumper is a pretty good I dea as well because if you hit the brakes it will cause more drag at higher rpm to assist in slowing and also stop creeping. Might just go that way.
