I'll measure mine up and take some photos to post tonight. I can compare the two that I have: one for a single 4 and a dual quad LX, both are 65's.

    Sorry for the delayed reply...

I would say #42 or #44. Both of those switch dimensions look correct. #42 is exactly right on. Its hard to see, but is there an extra spade off #44? I've got to ask out of curiosity, what are the other two off of?

After looking closely at both of the ones I have, the switches are exactly the same between the single and dual quad. The stroke and measurements are identical. There are some other differences though, such as wire color and the connectors as you see in the photo. The swtich and bracket on the left is for the 2x4 setup.

I aint sure but I think that the differences on the switches are from year to year and not from 1x4 to 2x4s.......

Thank you all for your input. I believe 42 to be correct due to a picture
from a 1965 2x4 I received. As for the bracket mounted to 41 is it the correct bracket? Or is there a different bracket. I would appreciate the
input. I don't know what they are all out of they all came with the 66 in
    a parts box.

Mark-I'm kinda with doc on this. I have '64-5-6- big car stuff (altho single 4barrell) and the switches/wiring are different. Like-the '65 has the wiring hardwired to the switch and the '66 has spade conectors

Oh-also this is the kick down switch as the switch pitch microswitch is on the throttle linkage-

wait back the truck up. Whether they have spades or pigtails is just a matter of connectors. Now microswitch on throttle not included in switch
pitch controller is huge because I have no such switch. I was under the impression it was included in the switch. 1 power in and 2 outs for both
wires in the tranny. 1 being the pitch the other being the kickdown. So
    someone please expound.

In some years there is a micro sw. that is back at the pivot joint, next to the firewall.... that is why I said that the year of manufacture might matter....BTW there is a dual 4 switch bracket for sale right now on ebay....nailhead section.

Mark-you need to have the '66 Buick service manual-lots of good info and pics-Buick did a good job on these. Then working on your car will be much easier going forward. You could also do a site search of similar posts over the last 7 years-

I have it it doesn't cover dual quads. Is the shift pitch is same for both 1x4, 2x4 and kickdown than I can use what is in the manual.

The switch pitch actuation is the same-

    And the kickdown?

The switch pitch feature is controlled by both the micro switch (located on the throttle linkage where it turns from horizontal to vertical near the firewall) and the kickdown switch. The most important consideration for a 2 x 4 setup is the mounting bracket which someone has pictured. Use the correct mounting bracket and the switch which will both hookup to your carb linkage and connect to the wiring harness in your car. You have a `66 Riv with a `65 dual quad setup so who knows if your wiring is the original `66 or `65?? The right switch will become very apparent when you attempt to install it. :idea2: Good Luck!
