In your case a stock timing chain will be OK. If the cam needs to be "Degreed in" just use an offset key from a small block Mopar. Available in 2-4-6-8*.

on the springs bullet might not have the right ones. you want 105-110 on the seat and 250-275 open pressure but check with bullet what they want for spring pressure, tell them you wont be reving only to 5000- 5500 RPM. have bullet get the springs from ta or Carmen faso and then have bullet send everything at once to you. there installed height is 1.6 and outside diameter is 1.3 inches.

Sorry for the delayed response Joe. In my eyes the TA20 is still pretty mild. I think one could easily run the TA25 and get the benefits of the extra exhaust duration without needing a converter or low gears. Of course, my idea of a mild cam might be a little distorted compared to most. :Brow:

yea I know your ideal of mild a thumper cam on a NOS bottle, LOL. I had a feeling he just wanted a little over stock. yes a bigger cam would make bigger HP numbers.

I want as much possible, without loosing a lot of the torque the nailhead have in low rpm.. Can I use the TA_25 instead , without losing low end torque?

TA has everything I need, a little pricey, but would be easiest to order from there..

I think the TA 25 would get you what your after. See the attached screen shots for a DesktopDyno comparison between the two. Other inputs essentially reflect a stock 401 bored .030 over, stock head flow characteristics, stock exhaust manifolds, etc. The TA 25 gave up nothing down low, and picked up quite a bit on the top end.

if the desk top is right the ta-25 is the better cam. what do you use for duration at 50 or advertise.

It uses both to calculate lifter ramp rate, and then @ .050" to calculate horsepower and torque.

can you put in my old comp cam, compare to the ta-25. 504/490 lift 218/230@50 and 262/280 advertise on 110 lsa and 108 cl. sure Houmark you use it, it will work fine too. I would still degree it in.

a lot has to do with the mods, but on your desk top with no mods. ta-25 makes 25 HP more at 4500 RPMS , 25 HP and no loss of torque and only difference is 10* more exhaust, could be I guess:Do No:

what is really funny TA list in the catalog the ta-20 makes 20 hp over stock and the ta-25 makes 25 hp over stock, that's only 5 hp difference.

Want me to use the same specs as the TA 20/TA 25 comparison?

I tend to not put much trust in catalogs anymore. There are way too many variables at hand to give any kind of accurate performance synopsis in a single sentence.

yes same specs, thanks Andy. that's so true about catalog

Here you go. More power and torque everywhere, primarily due to the higher lift and more aggressive ramp rate.

No racing for me, but if the graph go up without loss anywhere, why dont go higher until the low end gets hurt.. ;-) You see your old cam, that has higher numbers than the TA_25 has better numbers all over :)

So the Shneider cam will be the best off them all? Most power in the whole powerband?
