I work for Menards, 1st asst. dept. mgr. in the Wallcoverings dept. Those of you in the upper midwest know what Menards is, for those of you outside the upper midwest, Menards is a home improvement store (like home depot or lowes only better).

We are the 3rd largest home improvement chain in the world. our newest stores cover 220,000 sq feet indoors with 3-5 acres outside yard, and stock close to 200,000 items. In a nutshell you can build a house from instock items and not have to special order a thing.

What Station? I should be able to pick it up.

Me, I work making :Dou: Honda parts!!!!
    Don't shoot me:blast:

I hate factory work but it was the only job I could find... I did make Buick parts for 4+ years at another plant before I quit and said "I will never work in a factory again", but that only lasted 2 years! Oh well, someday I'll be my own boss.

I am working at Feigl-Aufzug-Service (translated: Feigl Elevator Service) as an elevator tech. We do service on elevators, modernizing and troubleshooting. Sometimes we build whole elevators, too. But thats not our main business.

Most times I do the troubleshooting and some office work.

    Cheers

    My job

I've owned and operated my own custom shop for 13 years now and i love to customize cars. I use to restore just Buicks in the begining but that changed as time went by. I sold a Nos 70 GS grille for $125 8 years ago and it was like pulling teeth to get my money for it. Wish i had it now. Here's a picture of one of my jobs.

I'm a Process Technician in an automotive glass plant. We're mainly into the heavy truck/bus/ RV markets and some niche areas. We produce all the Viper-Prowler Windshields and just ramped up on the Chevy SSR(which I just came home from working on) and Ford GT. We recently started producing tempered side lites and we are also making the tempered/ laminated sidelights for the Buick Ranier and others to come. We still make lots of replacement widshield from the 70's and up.

I'm on a layoff after 11 years as an engineer in an optics coating lab. Interesting technology....known as 'Physical Vapor Deposition' (PVD) , and 'Thin-Film Coatings'.... Bulk of our business was metallic-mirror coatings (aluminum or gold), and anti-reflection coatings. We coated everything from fiber optics to telescope lenses, and even some mirrors used in Pontiac heads-up-displays.
For now, I'm taking some time off, do some traveling, getting caught up with some project cars that have been sitting for 10 years, and trying to figure out what I want to do next....
