    Yeah, a model year 1994 and a model year 2000 Riviera :) !!!

    Make that 1995-1999, Howrad :TU:
(but the model year 1995 Riviera did come out mid-1994)

    Here's my list...

    1. '64 KX Code (dual quads)
    2. '65 GS
    3. '71 or '72 GS (w/buckets & console)
    4. '84 or '85 Turbo Convertible
    5. '70 GS (w/buckets & console + short skirts)

I'm actually quite surprised to see the '70 model year on so many lists.

    Short skirts are a plus.
I want a pair of the shorty skirts so I can switch back and forth depending on my mood.

The last nice pair I saw on eBay went for practically nothing compared to what they normally bring. Of course I had no money to buy at the time! :ball:

Wow, I am suprised at the 65's showing here, to me it is THE reason to love Rivieras! Anyway its a good thing we are not all alike. I could not believe the 65 GS riv that went for 45000 @ Mecum last weekend either-I saw the car in person. WTH not even the right center caps, a personal foul! :bla:

    Mine:

    1965 Hidden headlights rule
    1963 silver/silver
    1971
    1966
    1984 T-Type, black only.

Its either the '65 Clamshell lights or the Boattail that everyone thinks of. Though they do always think that every Riviera was FWD like the Tornados and Eldorados.

I find it interesting that all that is being discussed is the exterior.

I think the first gen Riv interior is simply beautiful. Especially the custom interiors of '64-65 with the optional simulated wood steering wheel.

I agree with Ted hidden headlights rule. But the ribbed '66 center caps so match the '65ribbed rocker panel trim.

    1. 1965 Riviera GS
    2. 1966 Riviera GS MZ code
    3. 1970 Riviera GS
    4. 1983 Riviera Twin Turbo Indy 500 Pace Car (one of the 2 real ones)

You have brought up a good point Greg. Here's my interior list:
All deluxe versions and with buckets:
    1964 Fawn color
    1966 White
    1971 White
    1968 Black
1965 not sure of a color on this one

The 63/64 has the most class of almost any old car. Ours beat out many cars at a big show a couple years back as the best interior. The judges would not shut up about it!

The 66/67 has that drum speedo that always gets attention. Plus it is very sporty looking. Love the console and shifter. Maybe the longest lasting seat material of any old car I have ever seen. Love the pattern in it too.

The 71/72 has that curved dash and a very nice console/shifter too. I like the 2 piece door panels. That loooong package tray is awesome.

The 68 with the metal on the dash and the roller switches is cool. Plus I like the console and shifter better than the 69. The material holds up great too.

    Don't like:
    heater controls on the 63
    gauges in the 65
    seat pattern in the 69/70
    seat pattern in the 65
    dash shape in the 73

    Things I really like:
    Gauges in the 63/64
    Drum speedo in the 66/67
    Seat pattern in the 66/67
    Package tray in the 71-73
Consoles in almost all of them
Turned metal on dash of the 71/72
Reclining seat with headrests on the 66/67
    Material used on the 66-70
Chrome/aluminum interior window trim on the early Rivs

OK V-8 Buick People: I'm definitely narrow minded. If I could order any particular Rivieras they would be these three....

65 GS Dark blue with white custom interior, wire caps

64 Coral mist with white custom interior, wire caps

63 Burgundy with white leather, wire caps

All of course with every option.

    I currently own a.........

65 GS white with saddle custom interior, loaded

65 GS burgundy with saddle custom interior

65 gold with saddle standard interior

65 dark green with white standard interior*

64 turquoise with saddle custom interior

64 white with black custom interior 2 4's

64 beige with saddle custom interior

64 turquoise with black custom interior*

64 powder brown? with fawn standard interior*

64 silver with red standard interior

    parts cars

64 white with black standard interior*

64 beige with saddle custom interior

64 coral mist with silver standard interior*

*= no a/c, all have power windows and full tint. There are no 63's because when I became serious about collecting none were thrown in my path.

While I do appreciate most other years, you can figure out what that little guy in my head is saying! Mitch

My favourite are the '66 GS with dual quads and a '67 GS. I prefer the looks and disc brakes of the '67 but I prefer the engine of the 1966.

Boy this sure is a tough question, but I'd say:
    1967 GS
    1966 Dual Quads
    1965

Guess that makes me a little lucky that I own my favorite, and maybe a little biased:pp

We got invited to bring a couple cars to the Power Tour and promote an indoor muscle car show that will be coming to Kingsport this fall. They organizer came to the garage and picked the 2 cars he wanted us to bring. Of course he picked one of the W Olds cars since it's really a muscle car show. But then he walked by all the other Rivs including a 66 GS and a 65 Dual 4 car right to Dad's 64 Riviera. He had to have it there. He loved the car and just wouldn't shut up about it.
So I guess his pick would be the first gen. 1964. I voted for him. LOL

I like nearly all of them for one reason or another, but the 71 is my favorite.

The 71-73 are bisected down the center by a line that continues from the hood to the trunk inside and out, and has that really niced curved dash.

The console shifter is angled toward the driver, as is all the dash controls.

When looking in the driver side mirror, you can seen the "hip" of the car which is nice.

After the 71, it would be a 65 or 67 after that, convertible from the 80's or a 99.

I can only speak to what I've seen and what I like on others.

The 66/67 has that drum speedo, which is nice.
The hide aways head lights on the 65 are fantastic.
The clean lines of the first gen are much more elegant than any other Riv, but the 71 is unmistakable.

Every car up to 1972 has an interesting motor, after that, well the 455 was detuned and we never got an interesting buick motor until the supercharged 3.8
