I likw what they did with the exhaust tips through the back bumper!. Pros.... Nice riding full size car, Not many around so you'll nearly always be the only one in a crowd of Stangs, Cameros and 55/57 Chevy's. Most of the engine and suspension parts are still available and not real pricey. Cons... No after market support on anything Riviera specific Its a nice driver but I wouldn't pay more than 8K for it. Check out the floors and trunk for rust through.

    just some thoughts-

First and foremost- NEVER BUY A CAR SIGHT UNSEEN!! EVER!!! If you want the car, get a plane ticket and go look at it in person. I'd rather be out the $400 than $6k.

If it has 22k miles on it, why is it so messed with? Whay are the front seats a different color like they were repaired in that area? In general, 68-69 Rivieras are pretty reasonably priced.

The headlights not going up and down are a given with these cars. Replacement vacuum cans are 265 each. Ouch! But they do work pretty good. Driveshafts are an issue. Especially the insulator for the center support bearing. Front end parts are expensive. Exhaust systems are expensive as well.

For me, the carb would have to go in favor of the factory Q-Jet. The rear bumper would get canned too and the factory exhaust would have to be put back on. Lots of sloppy work under the hood that needs to be cleaned up. Interesting detail- why is the heater control valve in the rear on a 69? It should be up front. I would make sure the engine is original to the car.

Im not sure if a 22k mile car with this much cleanup work is a deal, or getting a higher mileage car thats in better shape is better?

Sure is a lot of monkey business going on under that hood that needs straightening out for sure. :puzzled:
I think you can find better.

Trust me - That car has "ISSUES". Keep looking. These cars can be found for reasonable money in great condition but this is NOT one of them. Attractive exterior color though for sure.

There is often rot under vinyl tops. There is some non stock wiring under the hood. The head light doors need work. They say it is a 20 footer.

I can see how it went already:

Question to Owner: How many miles does the car have on it?
    Answer: Odomoter says 22k.
Question: Are you sure its only 22k, looks like 122k?
Question: It isn't 122k, as the odomoter only says 22k, not 122k like my Honda does.

Thanks guys, i agree car most likely has 122k on it for the amount if wear on even like the seats as well as eng compartment.

I will keep looking, love the 63-70 the most.. gr8 cars look tough but with class.

Holy sh!*, but it is really hard to believe the owner(s) cut two holes in the bumper for the exhaust tips.:eek2:

A big mark off right there for a new rear bumper. The Riviera "R" spinners are missing from the chrome wheels. Hopefully the owner is just hiding them.

On the other hand, I like the cursive Riviera name plate on the hood. A few 69 Rivs used the cursive name plates on the hoods and trunks while most used the block letters spread across the front of the hood with the Riviera by Buick name plate on the trunk.

Sometimes I think that Buick and/or Fisher had great big roulette style wheels in their assembly plants to pick what options to equip their Rivs with as they were being assembled on the lines.

It is missing two square seat buttons. Very tough to find these. Oh, did I mention that I could use three square seat buttons, two for replacements and one for a spare. PM me if you willing to part with these: hint, hint :dollar:.
